About the Opportunity
Building on track record of pioneering and implementing innovative public health solutions, the Clinton Foundation is looking to bring on a new Senior Community Manager, Climate & Sustainability at CGI. This role is charged with leading the development of relationships with a network of domestic and international organizations committed to advancing environmental sustainability and tackling the climate crisis, which are implementing community-specific programs around the world.
The Senior Community Manager, Climate & Sustainability support the development and maintenance of a portfolio of Commitments to Action to address specific climate challenges both in the US and globally. As CGI continues to expand its work in the climate and sustainability space, the Senior Community Manager will be charged with identifying, recruiting and forging partnerships between and among a wide-range of organizations committed to advancing climate action, including domestic and international businesses, philanthropic institutions, government agencies, and community-based organizations.
Successful candidates for this role will have a strong background in environmental sustainability, or climate change, will have a global perspective, a large professional network, and be excited to engage on challenges facing a diverse set of constituencies in the US and around the world. Candidates will have strong relationship management experience and an intuition for bringing different people together to forge partnerships.

Core Responsibilities
In this role you will work on:
Lead the development and growth of a diverse community of organizations focused on advancing environmental sustainability efforts and tackling the climate crisis, and support them in developing Commitments to Action:
- Lead the development of a portfolio of Commitments to Action focused on specific climate action and environmental sustainability challenges/solutions.
- Proactively recruit organizations to join the CGI network, attend CGI events. Examples of target organizations include Fortune 500 companies, large philanthropic institutions, community-based organizations, innovators, and other organizations with a stake in advancing efforts in tackling the climate crisis.
- Lead research and stakeholder mapping
- Build and manage pipeline of target organizations to recruit.
- Partner with the CGI leadership and broader CF colleagues to turn project and investment ideas into specific project plans, providing partner recommendations, sharing best practices, and driving network resources to yield tangible outcomes.
- Forge new partnerships across the CGI community to create new Commitments to Action and unlock new resources for the network.
- Identify and advise CGI/CF on emerging trends in the climate and environmental sustainability spaces that could be applicable for commitments to action and/or programming for CGI convenings.
Develop programming to support the creation of Commitments to Action and to facilitate recruitment to the CGI network.
- On an as-needed basis, lead and/or support the development of public or private events/panel discussions to advance the development of Commitments to Action. Examples of programming include:
- Developing private roundtable discussions on specific topics to drive issue awareness and identify partnership opportunities
- Creating public-facing panels and discussions at CGI or partner events to elevate issues and partners and create the platform for announcing new Commitments to Action.
- Attend conferences and other networking functions to recruit organizations to the CGI network.
Lead and maintain external relationships with key CGI partners and other stakeholders:
- Provide relationship management and service to key network stakeholders, proactively engaging in CGI events, brokering partner connections, and providing additional support to their work on an as needed basis.
- When appropriate, partner with the Clinton Foundation development team to support sponsorship proposals or other development asks to help sustain the work of CGI.
Minimum Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s Degree with a focus on climate, renewable energy, or sustainable development preferred
- 7+ years of professional experience, with at least 5+ in the environmental sustainability/climate space, with a record of developing partnerships required; some international experience preferred
- Significant experience in the environmental sustainability/ climate.
- Experience in developing cross-sectional partnerships and multi-stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Self-starter with the ability to develop to ideate, design and implement complex projects in various geographies.
- Deep knowledge of international development/social impact landscape, with particular insight into key players and trends.
- Experience in fundraising or sponsorship cultivation and/or creating investment plans and models a plus.
- Strong public speaker with an ability to lead large meetings and represent the Clinton Foundation in front of various stakeholders.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, and work on multiple time zones, as necessary.
Compensation & Benefits
Our best estimate of the compensation range for this opportunity is $80 - 90K annually, depending on the experience you bring. This range is based on NYC market rates and may be adjusted if you will be working remotely.
