Senior Components Technician

Vast is looking for a Senior Components Technician, reporting to the Manager of Components to support the development and fabrication of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.

Responsibilities: 

• Build and test valves, regulators, and actuators for maximum reliability in extreme environments
• Assist in troubleshooting or recognizing potential issues before they occur and helping to update work instructions to reduce possibilities of future errors
• Responsible for maintaining a professional and neat work area
• Responsible for staging, installing, set-up, testing and de-staging of production hardware 
• Troubleshoot failure modes and provide photo documentation and work directly with engineering to solve problems 
• Accept or reject test units based on calculated test data and results
• Perform work according to procedures, specifications and test instructions
• Maintain a high standard of build quality, ensure tests are being run correctly and will directly interface with build engineers on the floor

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to read blueprints
• 7+ years of experience in a test technician role

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience following written and verbal instruction
• Ability to work in a team on fast-moving projects
• Self-starter
• Team player mentality
• Aerospace manufacturing experience
• MIG, TIG, & robotic welding sheet metal
• General Fabrication and simple machining. 

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs unassisted
• Ability to stand 8 hours per day
• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to support critical mission milestones

Pay Range: 

• Senior Components Technician Level III: $40-$45/per hour
