Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect

This position will play a critical role on a federal government project to provide states and territories with subject matter expertise to support states or territories administering Unemployment Compensation (UC) programs (including territories administering the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program) in detecting and preventing UC fraud, promoting equitable access, and ensuring the timely payment of benefits with respect to UC programs, including programs extended under subtitle A of title IX of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect, you will support and provide expertise to state and federal government agencies when they are:

• Designing and developing solutions to complex applications problems, systems administration issues, or network concerns.
• Performing systems management and integration functions.
• Communicating with staff or clients to understand specific system requirements.
• Collaborating with others to determine design specification or details.
• Providing advice on project costs, design concepts, or design changes.
• Recommending changes to improve computer or information systems.
• Collaborating with engineers, software developers, business analysts to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components.
• Evaluating current or emerging technologies to consider cost, portability, compatibility or usability.
• Identifying system data, hardware, or software components required to meet user needs.
• Developing guidelines for system implementation.

About You

You're a fit for the role of Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect if you:

• Have a Bachelor's degree in areas such as computer science, engineering or information systems
• Have a minimum of 10 years of full-time equivalent work experience in performing the work described above
• Possess knowledge of Federal directives, mandates, and guidelines associated with the Federal-State UC programs, including regular UC, Extended Benefits and temporary federal extended benefit programs (FPUC, MEUC, PEUC, and PUA)
• Experience doing work in Unemployment Insurance (preferred)
• Experience doing work in state or federal government (preferred)

As required by the New York City Human Rights Law (NYCHRL) for New York City based roles, the base compensation range for this position is $95,200 - $176,800. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.

As required by local legislation for this remote based role, the base compensation range for this position is $84,700 - $157,300. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
