Job Description

The Senior Configuration & Integration Engineer is responsible for leading and directing other content engineers within Professional Services and is an expert in the development and testing of customized content for Wolters Kluwer software solutions. The Senior Content Engineer will work closely with multiple work groups across Professional Services, the CCOE and WK Product Development teams to understand how base content is developed and the features and functions of how the various product authoring tools and methodologies apply customizations to support multiple Wolters Kluwer Financial Services customer engagements.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs custom content solutions for a given product line using specific tools and methodology.
  • Utilizes Wolters Kluwer proprietary tools as well as industry tools to implement custom content and/or custom mapping solutions for customer engagements.
  • Works closely with Compliance and Implementation Consultants and Analysts to understand and interpret requirements for specific content customizations.
  • Works daily with content engineers to ensure authoring and testing timelines of various project work items are met.
  • Monitors and communicates project timeline risks and mitigation steps to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Helps quality assurance content engineers design and develop testing methods for various types of content customizations.
  • Maintains working knowledge of layout, design and manipulation of text, graphics and other content features implemented with Wolters Kluwer products and services.
  • Review work items and custom content development features to educate and refine work item estimating processes.
  • Understands beginning to end Professional Services workflow for creating and managing work items and custom content deliverables.
  • Works closely with Integration Engineers within Technical Professional Services to understand build processes, execution methods and implementation strategies to ensure quality deliverables for customer engagements.
  • Regularly attends software product demos, working sessions and issue review meetings to provide feedback as voice of customer for the needs of custom content.
  • Utilizes base content and product development documentation for training of custom content authoring teams.
  • Develops and maintains Professional Services specific documentation for the authoring and testing of custom content features and functions.
  • Works closely with managers and leads within Professional Services to regularly update and define requirements documentation, authoring and testing procedures.
  • Holds regular team and 1:1 session with members of the content engineering team to disseminate information, gather feedback and give feedback and guidance for new and experience members of the team.
  • Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in primary technical job family and knowledge of related technical job families; has worked with a range of technologies.
  • Has knowledge of best practices and aware of the competition and market differentiators.
  • Solves complex technical problems; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in BCIS, MIS, Computer Sciences or related degree, or equivalent job experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in content development or quality assurance.
  • Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows-based PCs.
  • Fluency in the English language
  • Demonstrated knowledge of professional software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build and release processes, and test suite development and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated decision making skills.
  • Strong communication and directive skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic software concepts and designated software packages currently being used by Wolters Kluwer Financial Services.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Skilled in the use of Altova XMSpy, MapForce and other software.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Team Foundation Server – Team Explorer.
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Azure Dev Ops workflow tools
  • Strong attention to detail.
