As a Senior Consultant - Azure Data Engineer you will work with business analysts, information architects, and developers to build and deliver pipelines for a text mining and information retrieval platform.  We are seeking a candidate with experience working on unstructured data and the Microsoft Azure platform with Azure AI services.

  • What you will do:
    • Design, develop, and maintain Azure-based data solutions using services such as Azure AI (Cognitive) Services, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
    • Design and implement data pipelines and solutions for unstructured data from various sources (SharePoint, SaaS applications, document repositories) that leverage Azure Cognitive Services for text extraction, image recognition, entity recognition and other cognitive services features.
    • Develop solutions using Python and REST-based API's and software development kits (SDK's) to build secure image processing, natural language processing (NLP), and knowledge mining.
    • Collaborate with business analysts, architects and developers to integrate Azure Cognitive Services API's into data processing workflows and applications.
    • Implement data integration solutions using Azure Logic Apps and Azure Functions.
    • Adhere to data governance and compliance standards by implementing data classification, masking and retention policies.
    • Monitor and optimize pipelines, storage, index and function apps for performance, scalability and reliability.
    • Protect sensitive data through integration and storage process by implementing security measures and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
    • Stay current with latest technologies in the Azure data engineering space and AI technologies and frameworks while striving for process improvements.
    • Document data solutions (system architecture, data flows and configuration details).
    • Utilize agile practices, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and code reviews.


  • Your experience:
    • Experience with Azure-based data solutions such as Azure Cognitive Services, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
    • Ability to develop solutions using Python, REST-based API's and Software Development Kits (SDKs).
    • History of building and training machine learning models with Azure Machine Learning.
    • Understanding of data governance and compliance standards.
    • Knowledge of agile practices.

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Competitive salary with opportunities for additional incentives. Salary range for this role is $100,000-$180,000 per year, dependent on experience.  We review compensation annually to make sure what we offer is fair and in line with the market.
