Senior Consultant, Training
Job Description
The Sr. Consultant is responsible for:
• Defining learning and organizational development strategy that support articulated business outcomes for a domain
• Work collaboratively with team members to oversee design, delivery and implementation of a wide range of learning support solutions, likely to be highly visible and complex in nature.
• Analyze and report on learning and organizational development solutions for continuous improvement.
• Support internal infrastructure and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, and reduce risk.
• Designing/developing blended learning solutions to address learning gaps
• Staying informed of industry trends and best practices
• Helping advance our strategies to establish an enterprise approach to learning and development
MAJOR DUTIES:
• Design Leadership - Consults with client groups, senior leadership and professional peers to identify learning needs. Use the information to design effective training or performance support solutions.
• Project Leadership - Responsible / leads the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training and performance support projects. Directs the activities of project team members; coaches them to deliver top-quality, timely products; and obtains necessary resources for the project team's success.
• Learning Strategy Formulation - Determines current and future learning needs by analyzing business goals and objectives; identifying key organizational, environmental, and human factors; considering client input; and assessing current team performance. Uses this data, plus outside research, to formulate both short and long-term learning strategies.
• Program Development & Implement - Develops learning programs, respecting both the original design and the project timing and action. Uses appropriate instructional tactics and media to meet the design objectives. Plans and directs implementation for learning plan and programs, creating support materials when needed. Assists clients in correct use of new and ongoing programs. Conducts classroom training programs and makes appropriate arrangements for participants, materials, and facilities.
• Program Evaluation - Evaluates the effectiveness of learning products and programs by designing approaches to measure learners' reactions, the amount of learning and application that took place and the impact on the business.
• Client Service - Regularly meets with clients to keep current on business objectives and immediate and long-term learning needs. Serves as a key learning liaison and expert for clients by performing research, making recommendations, and documenting and sharing knowledge.
Team Coaching and Development - Delegates and distributes work; trains and coaches for performance; helps coordinate and set priorities for activities. Coaches new team members and peers to improve their professional skills.
• Metrics - Compile & publish monthly, quarterly and annual training reports.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
• Advanced instructional design expertise (instructor-led, blended and virtual) with knowledge of adult learning and motivation principles across geographies
• Able to work independently and/or coach others team members
• Able to Facilitate/deliver instructor-led classes, onsite or remotely
• Able to present, explain and sell the instructional design solution/s to internal team and client/s
• Highly creative, innovative producer and problem-solver able to generate ideas and provide visual concepts for overall training solution while working under time and client pressure
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and able to facilitate discussions to reach decisions
• Able to form strong relationships with business clients, GS L&D partners, and partners across the globe
• Able to translate business requirements into user-centric systems requirements
• Strong consulting, influence, conflict management, and negotiation skills
• Exposure to process management, design standards and governance (e.g., able to build processes and templates to minimize development time)
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills required
• Relentless attention to detail, high standards, and the ability to produce high quality deliverables
• A team player interested in working in a collaborative and team-oriented environment
• Technical skills / systems knowledge (e.g. Microsoft, e-Learning Tools, and Learning Platforms) preferred
• Knowledge of collaboration tools such as video conference, WebEx, Teams , etc. for communicating and presenting to geographically diverse teams would be an added advantage
EXPERIENCE:
• 10 to 12 years' experience in designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training and performance improvement programs.
• At least 5 Years of direct experience in a training consulting role for Financial Services Industry.
• Experience in managing learning projects.
• Advanced instructional design and development experience required
• Vendor sourcing and vendor management experience
• Demonstrated experience leading complex global learning projects
• Some experience designing and/or reengineering processes to gain efficiencies
