Job Description
One of our premier clients is in need of a Consumer Protection Subject Matter Expert for a 9-month contracting opportunity.
Location: NYC or San Francisco preferred; Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite required
If you are located outside of NYC/SF we will still consider your application but you will be fully remote.
Project Length: 9 months plus
Compensation Range: This role will compensate $90-110/HR depending upon years of experience, education, and relevant certifications.
Responsibilities
- Compliance Advisory
- Advise product teams on consumer protection risk considerations for new products and initiatives
- Identify potential compliance risks and propose potential risk mitigations
- Review consumer-facing content and user interfaces to ensure that representations are clear and accurate
- Customer Support Oversight
- Advise operational teams on the identification, investigation, escalation and resolution of consumer complaints and disputes
- Review and analyze complaint trends to identify potential issues impacting consumers
- Perform monitoring and testing to ensure timely and appropriate resolution of consumer complaints and disputes
- Respond to regulatory complaints
- Regulatory Engagement
- Prepare materials for regulatory examinations and coordinate with business stakeholders to respond to regulatory requests
- Perform examination readiness assessments
- Engage with regulatory stakeholders
- Control Implementation & Documentation
- Propose enhancements to compliance controls
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement control enhancements
- Perform risk assessments and control mapping
- Program Development & Governance
- Develop consumer protection policies and standards
- Prepare consumer protection compliance reporting materials
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in the risk and compliance
- Bachelor's degree required
- Experience with consumer protection requirements, including UDAAP and Regulation E is a must have
- Experience preparing for regulatory examinations (CFPB preferred)
- Experience with transaction disputes and consumer complaints
- Experience advising product teams on compliance requirements
- Experience performing risk assessments
- Experience documenting and evaluating compliance controls
- Experience developing compliance testing plans
- Experience developing compliance policies and procedures
