The Marketing team at Snap articulates and brings to life who we are as a brand, why we exist, who we serve, and what value we have to offer. They are on a mission to build a best-in-class international marketing organization. With functions spanning global business and consumer marketing, consumer insights, creative, brand marketing, and marketing operations, the team enables and activates marketing initiatives across the entire Snap Inc. ecosystem.Â
The Content Creator will be a leader and partner in the Brand Makers Studio to evaluate and surface creative opportunities that can be solved with content-led ideas. The Content Creator is responsible for originating, producing and spreading content-driven creative ideas that strengthen Snapchat’s role in culture and work toward key brand and business objectives. Candidates should have a strong understanding of digital and social-media storytelling best practices and trends, as well as the knowledge of when and how to break the rules. An eye for social visuals, experience with creating short form video content both on-the-fly and in pre-planned projects are requirements.. Experience in content execution and ability to communicate effectively and meet deadlines are a must.
What You’ll Do:Â
Proactively pitch new ideas that can deliver on brand and business objectives
Produce, shoot, and edit short form social video content both in the studio and on location
Partner with Brand Makers Studio and broader Snapchat team to identify activation across the organization that can be supported by creative content
Concept, explore and push social creative that drives conversation and affinity for Snapchat
Develop, pitch and produce original series and one-off stories for both social-first and other appropriate usage
Stay up to date with latest social media trends, best practices and technologies - and advise on when and how to break them
Work in multidisciplinary team with strategists, producers and marketers
Collaborate with Social Managers, Marketers and Product team stakeholders
Work from briefs to come up with ideas that are on-strategy
Pay attention to performance metrics and learn ways to improve both in real-time and for future projects
Collaborate with Snapchat influencers to deliver stories that resonate with and engage key audiences
Utilize Snapchat creative tools to create and modify existing and new content for cross-channel usage
Actively participate in brainstorms for content, channel strategy and media planning
Assist in content calendar planning, logistics and budget conversations
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Â
A deep understanding of popular and internet culture, behaviors and trends
Superior knowledge of the culture that impacts marketing across key channels
Ability to build honest, direct relationships with colleagues and outside partners
Ability to debate constructively and ask challenging questions
Solid initiative, attention to detail and follow-through skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees
Proficiency with video production and editing tools
Experience writing, casting, directing and producing content
Motion graphics and/or illustration experience a plus.
Deep understanding of the social media landscape
A willingness to experiment with best practices to find new and more effective tools for audience discovery and engagement
Ability to manage multiple projects at once
Diligent attention to detail
Experience in leading content production projects
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
10+ years experience originating, producing and spreading content-driven creative ideas is required
10+ years experience developing consumer creative
After-hours work and overnight travel required
Preferred Qualifications
Creative agency or brand marketing experience preferred
On Set Director experience preferred - leading production, directing talentÂ
History of being a personal Snapchat user is a plus
Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base salary range for this position is $205,000 - 295,000 annually
Zone B: The base salary range for this position is $195,000 - 280,00 annually
Zone C: The base salary range for this position is $174,000 - 251,0 annually
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
