Introduction
The Adobe Design content strategy team is looking for an experienced and effective content strategist to partner with the Spectrum, Adobe's design system.
You'll be part of the Adobe Design Content Strategy (ADCS) team is a mighty group of content strategists, content designers, and UX writers focused on in-product user experience. The Content Team is a strong partner to the Spectrum Design System Team and is part of a larger centralized Design team that covers horizontal efforts like brand, icons, engineering, prototyping, and more. We have direct impact on every Adobe product across every business unit.
What you'll be working on
Spectrum is at a pivotal point. We recently announced Spectrum 2, and over the next couple of years, many products in Adobe's portfolio will be migrating to the next experience.
- You'll embed with the Spectrum design team, working with designers, engineers, prototypers, other content strategists, and more
- You'll bring clarity, consistency, and quality to the way we design our system, develop taxonomy and terminology, write documentation, and more
- You'll develop strategies and standards on how Spectrum uses language, and how partners both on the Spectrum team and throughout Adobe should extend that thinking.
- You'll work with our dedicated, tight-knit UX content strategy team to help us standardize the way we standardize our interface language (and if that sounds like a fun challenge, let's talk).
What you'll bring to the team
Design systems are a rapidly evolving area of practice and Adobe's ecosystem is large and rapidly evolving. This job will require a learner's mindset and a strong sense of curiosity. Be ready to invent the future in real time!
Must-haves
- A proven track record for developing a content strategy, and tactically writing and designing toward that strategy
- Experience with content efforts on a team within a large, diverse organization
- The ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects at a time
- Extraordinary writing and communication skills, and a sharp attention to detail
- Ability to present and sell your ideas, create coalition, and build support
- 3+ years of experience in information architecture, content strategy, and/or UX writing
- Experience crafting and contributing to content standards, terminology, and UX writing efforts at a software company
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with, and a point of view on, design systems
- Experience with (or strong interest in) creating taxonomies and ontologies
- Experience driving or contributing to consistency efforts in a design organization
How to apply
To be considered for this role, please submit your resume and portfolio. In your portfolio, we'd like to see a strong writing foundation, and examples of systems-thinking approaches to design. Anything that shows experience engaging with a similar kind of software design team would be a big plus.
This position is full-time and can be located in San Francisco, Seattle, New York, or remote in the US.
