Senior Content Writer

The Senior Writer must be a strategic thinker with a passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of how content drives impact, from brand awareness and engagement to driving conversions. They’re an expert in their craft and a mentor to other writers, educating writers across Adyen and developing processes that improve the way we work. They produce both long-form and short-form content, often taking the lead on advanced writing projects. The Senior Writer is skilled in content strategy, proactively connecting their work to Adyen’s commercial objectives. They collaborate closely with teams across the commercial organization to surface new content opportunities and strategies. They have an advanced understanding of our products, value proposition, and brand positioning. 

What you will do

Writing

• Write, edit, and proofread content for various channels, including blogs, social media, email, and web pages;
• Be on-the-ground for case studies, shoots, and interviews that involve content creation;
• Optimize content for search engines and social media platforms working collaboratively with the SEO Content Manager, ensuring best practices for SEO, metadata, and social are executed in the writing;
• Take the lead on more complex writing projects that require a high level of product knowledge, the ability to translate high-level ideas into tangible content outputs, and manage multiple stakeholders across seniority levels.

Strategy

• Develop and manage content strategies that support and extend marketing initiatives, determining which methods work for the brand and why;
• Regularly analyze content performance data to identify trends, successes, and areas for improvement. Use these insights to refine content strategies, optimize existing content, and guide the development of future content to ensure it meets the organization's objectives and resonates with the target audience;
• Work closely with the Team Lead to shape and update the global/local content roadmap.

Education

• Create and update writing templates and guidelines that can be used across studios, implementing new ways to work more efficiently;
• Mentor writers across studios to ensure writing is at the highest quality;
• Be a champion of Adyen’s branding and tone of voice, ensuring consistency in quality and tone of voice.

General

• Build and maintain positive relationships with teams across Adyen (e.g., sales, product marketing, local marketing leads);
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines;
• Work cross-functionally with designers, marketing, and research teams across Adyen to create compelling customer-centric content;
• Set an outstanding example of the Adyen formula.

Who you are

• You have 7+ years of professional experience;
• You are a storyteller: curious and keen to discern the motivations, behaviors, and preferences of our audiences;
• You have an impeccable eye for detail and ability to approach tasks with a journalistic attitude to proactively identify new story opportunities that are engaging and support commercial goals;
• You have a good understanding of what it means to write for digital channels: blending user experience and channel best practices, and how they fit into the bigger picture of content marketing;
• You have the ability to self-start, stick to deadlines, and take a lead in projects to drive them forward – while being open and comfortable to iteration and feedback;
• You have full professional proficiency (written and verbal) in English. Additional Asian language ability is a plus;
• Having a strong understanding of the nuances of key markets across APAC (Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Malaysia, Japan, India and China) is a plus;
• Some international travel is required.
