Databricks is looking for an experienced to play a leading role in Databricks’ growing U.S. commercial legal team. You will report to the Managing Counsel, Americas Commercial Legal, and will be an important part of the team responsible for reviewing and negotiating customer agreements, providing legal support for revenue-generating activities of Databricks, and much more.

The impact you will have:

The Senior Contracts Negotiator should have years of relevant legal experience negotiating technology-related contracts with various types of commercial organizations. You should have meaningful experience negotiating software-as-a-service (SaaS) transactions with Fortune 500 companies, and experience with issues related to data privacy and security, as well as intellectual property.

  • You will review, draft and manage NDAs and order forms as well as complex contracts and other documents.
  • You will provide support and advice to sales teams on deal processes and contract management.
  • You will learn Databricks’ internal structures, product offerings, technology, security/data protection systems and policies to give you a foundation for providing support across Databricks' lines of business.
  • You will bring your understanding of product and pricing to guide sales teams during negotiations, and in other contexts.
  • You will cultivate strong cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders and provide strategic advice on the Company's go-to-market efforts.
  • You will contribute as a team player to help further the status of the legal department as a respected and valued resource within the company.

What we look for:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent or greater with 5+ years of experience negotiating complex software, SaaS and consulting services contracts involving security, privacy, and IP issues.
  • Experience in-house within a technology company that maintains a quarterly sales cycle.
  • Knowledge of business processes relating to commercial contract practices in a sales-led environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize time and business needs in the face of competing demands.
  • Experience managing time sensitive, complex commercial contract processes and administration.
