The Role

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Conversation Designer to join our experience design team. You’ll be responsible for shaping our patient care delivery by crafting conversations with our care team, starting with our conversation and engagement agent, the Curai Health Assistant.

What You’ll Do

• Hands-on crafting of empathetic and emotionally intelligent conversations that account for linguistic nuances, behavioral archetypes, and the holistic patient context. 

• Analyze conversations and user feedback to ensure our communications are of the highest quality and align with Curai’s standards and values.

• Conduct market, patient, and stakeholder research to understand needs and preferences, capture requirements, and validate and improve conversation designs.

• Create sample dialogs, flow diagrams, prototypes, and conversation guidelines covering topics including patient intake, triage, treatment, adherence, and behavior change.

• Apply behavioral science principles to design interactions that motivate and support patients in adhering to treatment plans and making sustainable lifestyle changes.

• Expand our patient communication capabilities to include voice and video interactions.

• Collaborate closely with the AI, clinical, product, and engineering teams to ensure effective execution and seamless delivery into the product.

• Advocate for best practices in conversation design within Curai and the broader community.

• Stay ahead of industry trends and advancements in AI and conversational design. 


What You’ll Need

• Candidates must submit a digital portfolio of at least three professional Conversation Design projects demonstrating the impact of their work, the process undertaken, and the artifacts produced to facilitate collaboration with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders. 

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Linguistics, Psychology, or a related field.

• 7+ years of experience in conversation design and UX writing.

• Demonstrable experience with chatbot conversation design and AI-driven interfaces.

• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles.

• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools.

• Demonstrable experience in conducting and synthesizing research with users and stakeholders

• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with an emphasis on clear, compassionate communication.

• Ability to translate complex concepts into simple, user-friendly conversations.

• Affinity to Curai’s core values – mission orientation, impact & agency, and emotional intelligence.


Our ideal candidate also has

• Native or bi-lingual fluency in Spanish.

• Experience working as a UX writer.

• Experience crafting multi-modal interactions, including voice and video.

• Experience designing conversational experiences built upon generative AI and large language models, such as GPT-4, Bard, LLaMa-2, and Claude-2.

• Experience with behavior change design.

• Background in healthcare or working with clinical content.

This position's annual base salary range is between $150,000 and $200,000 annually. Stock grants also play a key part in any offer; they significantly increase your overall compensation package based on company success. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
