The Senior Copy Editor is responsible for owning the editorial review process across the marketing team. This person will be integral for maintaining consistent messaging across marketing materials, ensure that the integrity of the brand tone and voice is upheld, and be essential to the creative review process. The role will include reviewing all copy , short and long-form, across presentations, social content, broadcast, experiential and events, OOH and digital advertising as well as the evolution and maintenance of the brand copy guidelines.
Candidates should have a strong background in copy editing and proofreading of short and long-form copy for global brands.
What You’ll Do:Â
Proofread and copy edit all copy across the global marketing team
Partner with Brand Maker Studio to ensure high quality creative execution
Collaborate with a cross-discipline creative team
Work on the continued development of the brand tone of voice and copy style guide
Ensure consistency of the brand voice and copy across all marketing deliverables
Be a point of contact for the company for how to properly use the copy style guide
Proactively look for ways to improve the copy editing and proofreading process
Guide and mentor copywriters on how to develop strong creative copy executions
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Â
Superior knowledge of copy editing and proofreading
Exceptional writing skills with proven success communicating a range of messages to various audiences and across key marketing channels
Ability to build honest, direct relationships with colleagues and outside partners
Ability to debate constructively, ask challenging questions and take constructive criticism in a productive way
Strong initiative, attention to detail and follow-through skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees
Willingness to bring creative excellence to projects across a variety of deliverable types
Ability to juggle multiple projects at once when necessary
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
5-7 years experience in copy editing/proofreading or other relevant writing roles
After-hours work required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience proofreading long and short form copy across multiple disciplines
History of being a personal Snapchat user is a plus
Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base salary for this position is $145,000 - $210,000 annually
Zone B: The base salary for this position is $138,000 - $200,000 annually
Zone C: The base salary for this position is $123,000 - $179,000 annually
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
