AKQA Copywriters play essential roles in the strategy, conception and writing of beautiful ideas, products and services. They bring exceptional creative thought and craft output, developing and delivering projects from brief to end user. The Senior Copywriter at AKQA approaches every brief with fresh eyes. Avoiding familiar solutions, the Senior Copywriter will create and inspire work that is distinctive, effective and truly remarkable, crafting exceptional copy and storytelling.

Based on the Georgetown Waterfront, our Washington DC studio creates breakthrough products and services for a diverse range of clients.

Recognized for outstanding work by Cannes, Apple and the Clio Awards, we deliver on our client’s most challenging briefs. This includes the future of retail, global entertainment launches and piloting digital products and services that reshape customer experiences.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• A compelling portfolio of work that demonstrates high quality copywriting, clever headlines and concepting experience within a variety of advertising campaigns and digital content
• Excellent writing, grammar and proofreading skills
• Implement a combination of strategic, conceptual and copywriting skills
• Inspire and embrace challenges and new ways of thinking
• Collaborate with the client and various teams within AKQA
• Experience writing thought-provoking headlines, long-form web copy, scripts, brand manifestos, voice and tone guidelines and UI copy

QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS

• A collaborative, empathic personality that is organized and buttoned up, with excellent attention to detail
• A drive to break boundaries and craft the best ideas in the world of their kind
• Fearlessly, boundlessly creative and relentlessly attentive to detail
• Able to proofread one’s own work and catch/correct typos
• 5+ years of experience writing advertising copy within an ad agency
