The team

Join our Core Infrastructure - Platforms Team and start playing a vital role in managing and enhancing Kraken's engineering platform! The Core Infrastructure - Platform team is responsible for managing and applying best practices to our orchestration platform while providing infrastructure support across Engineering. The Core Infrastructure - Platforms Team at Kraken is dedicated to creating a secure reliable and scalable infrastructure platform that facilitates a continuous approach to our software development practices. Lately the team has been focusing on providing a self-service platform for engineers to easily access and manage their services in the clusters the team provides and manages.

The opportunity

• Extend and automate the existing container orchestration platform ensuring its scalability reliability and performance.

• Work closely with SREs from different teams to reduce their cognitive load related to the orchestration platform.

• Implement and maintain security best practices for the orchestration platform ensuring the security and availability of our systems.

• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues as well as provide guidance and support to other team members.

• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the smooth operation of our critical systems.

Skills you should HODL

• Strong background in Linux Networking and Distributed Systems.

• Significant hands-on experience with container orchestration platforms such as Nomad or Kubernetes in a high availability production environment.

• Advanced proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

• Extensive experience with AWS Cloud Infrastructure.

• Strong security mindset and experience implementing security best practices in a complex environment.

• Extensive experience with monitoring logging and alerting tools.

• Significant experience with one or more of the following languages: Python Go Rust Bash.

• Passion for improving processes products and the developer experience for engineering teams.

• Knowledgeable about continuous integration and delivery best practices.

• Excellent communication interpersonal and leadership skills.

• Ability to thrive while working independently and remotely in a team-based environment.

• Self-starter capable of context-switching between various projects codebases and concepts.

Nices to have

• Experience with other HashiCorp tools such as Vault and Consul.
