About the Role

Carrier Commercial Operations Finance has an opportunity in Charlotte, NC for a high potential, results-oriented Cost Accounting Manager to perform financial and cost accounting activities. Position requires flexibility as well as the ability to work with department managers and support functions in forecasting and analyzing operations performance. Candidate must possess strong analytical skills and ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory standard costs in both MRP system and SAP system, determine root cause of costing issues and implement corrective action as required.
• Development and execution of the annual standard cost process.
• Quantitative spreadsheet analysis of material cost and financial data to assist in identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
• Participate in and develop data for program management Passport reviews as required.
• Participation in execution and reconciliation of annual WIP physical inventory.
• Perform Ad-hoc analysis as needed for finance and plant leadership.
• Continuous improvement utilizing Carrier Excellence tools.

Required Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Accounting/Finance is required
• 5+ years' experience in finance/accounting with previous experience in a manufacturing environment including the following:
  • Labor, material, & overhead analysis
  • Standard costing
  • Inventory accounting, overage, and obsolescence reporting
• Systems proficiency:
  • 3+ years advanced level proficiency with MS Excel
  • 3+ years experience with large ERP/MRP financial software such as SAP, HFM

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or CPA/CMA is preferred
• Routings management
• Financial software - SAP and HFM
• MRP software - Chess & SAP
• Business Intelligence - BI 4.0
• MS Access- has designed databases and done extensive reporting
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Suite including Office, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, honest, and thorough. A versatile, self-starter with a positive attitude, who is cautiously assertive
• Ability to modulate with a dynamic workload: From heavy multi-tasking during peak workloads - to very focused detail-oriented work during critical projects
• Team attitude; eager to cooperate with others with exceptional interpersonal communication skills
• High level of quality/accuracy in their work, detail oriented, low level of supervision required
• Self-direction and organization skills critical to achieve month-end reporting deadlines.
• Ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis
