Senior Cost Accountant (Relocation Provided)

Position Overview:
As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will plan and perform senior professional accounting functions in all areas of cost and inventory accounting for the Greenwood, SC facility. Our products include units, racks, banks, switches, network protectors and metal enclosures. You will Initiate and oversee functions for sales and cost reports, financial statements, and account analyses, perform monthly margin analyses, inventory analyses and monthly reporting. You'll assist in meeting internal control/SOX requirements and with special projects for the plant.

In this function you will:
- Assist in the coordination and planning of the cost accounting function in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and company policies for accurate cost, inventory, and financial statement reporting.
- Set new standards for material, labor, and burden, including the development of the standard cost build-up using bills of material, purchase standards, labor costs, and established burden rates for all products.
- Establish, monitor, and enforce inventory control procedures including SOX compliance.
- Assist in formulation and institution of procedures for physical inventories in accordance with company policy; oversee actual inventory, verify the count and valuation, and reconcile and analyze the results.
- Oversee the inventory cycle count program for the facility. Major consideration for commodities and MRO materials.
- Review cost roll-ups for accuracy and completeness and makes corrections as necessary.
- Monitor scrap/CONC accounting.
- Assist in month-end close with an emphasis on production related costs and inventory including journal entry preparation and inventory account balance verification in SAP. Includes detailed reviews of backordered materials and prepaid expenses to ensure proper matching of sales and costs of goods sold (COGS).
- Prepare and analyze monthly sales and margins.
- Prepare and analyze account reconciliations as specified with an emphasis on inventory related accounts.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reports and forecasts including monthly forecasts and annual profit plans with an emphasis on production related costs (COGS, PPV, absorption, scrap, etc.) and inventory.
- Be responsible for financial reporting for management relating to PPV, scrap, production order variances, financial metrics, and other account analyses as required.
- Perform cost analysis of proposed and implemented projects (new products, cost savings, etc.) as necessary.
- Interface and coordinate other business tasks with the Lead Financial Analyst and Division as necessary including audits (internal and external).
- Interface and coordinate other business tasks as directed including interaction with other departments.

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or Business from an accredited university or college required.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting/finance experience
- Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Accounting/Finance experience within manufacturing
- Master's degree in Business Administration.
- Experience with SAP strongly desired.
- CPA or CMA.
Position Criteria:
- Must have a working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Must be able to express ideas and concepts in a clear and concise manner, verbally as well as written.
