GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain the bills of material in our Glovia ERP system. Verify the accuracy of structures, routings, usage amounts, and costs. Incorporate bill of material changes into our ERP in a timely manner to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Lead the annual standards-setting process.
- Work with the Materials organization to understand projected material costs.
- Set labor and burden rates by working with operations to understand how labor and burden should be allocated across different product lines.
- Determine inbound freight rates based on historical and projected usage.
- Report out the final standards roll to senior leadership and identify reconciling items to the financial plan.
- Assist Plant leadership with the annual physical inventory and analyze results to determine the root cause of usage variances and report on the proposed book-to-ledger adjustment. Work with the Materials team throughout the year to correct and monitor usage variances.
- Finance liaison for Product Engineering; participate in engineering re-design discussions to ensure proposed cost savings scenarios are accurately being presented to management. Provide make versus buy scenarios to enable management to make sound judgments.
- Compile the monthly purchase price variance forecast and work with purchasing department to understand price variances and upcoming material productivity projects and report out to senior leadership.
- Prepare journal entries at month end focusing on entries related to production, Inventory transfers, and vendor material surcharge accruals.
- Complete monthly account reconciliations including reconciliation of the Inventory account.
- Ensure preparation of financial information is in accordance with GAAP & Sarbanes-Oxley and assist with internal & external audits.
- Perform Ad-hoc analysis and provide accounting support to plant leadership
EDUCATION:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Specific qualifications for the role include:
- Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in an ERP system and working on bill-of-material issues
- Demonstrated process improvement mindset
- Advanced level Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft office applications
- Strong project management skills with attention to detail and delivering a quality work product on time.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to concisely and effectively convey results of analysis both orally and in written format.
- Detail-oriented, well organized, and able to manage multiple and conflicting priorities under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and internal controls procedures.
