The Team & Role

 

Zuora’s Marketing team is responsible for bringing the Zuora story to life across all channels and mediums. We translate our company mission and vision into compelling messages, visual designs, videos, demand campaigns, content strategies, events, customer assets, strategic communications, and digital experiences that drive global awareness of and engagement with our brand, as well as growth for the business.


As part of the Marketing organization, the Brand & Creative team plays the critical role of defining the brand strategy and creative vision for the entire company, as well as directing and executing creative for Marketing and teams across the org.


THE ROLE AND OPPORTUNITY:


We are looking for an exceptional Senior Design Lead to join the Brand & Creative team at Zuora. The Senior Creative Designer role will work closely with the Brand & Creative team, the Brand Experience team, and the Marketing team to help drive and scale world-class execution of our brand across all channels, mediums and touchpoints globally. You will interact with stakeholders across Zuora, agencies, third-party vendors and contractors. You will bring the Zuora brand to life with creativity and superior craftsmanship. Most importantly, you will also help mentor more junior designers on the team.


By leveraging your skills in content, web, and experience design, your work will be displayed on the center stage (literally) of our company’s evolution.



THE WORK + RESPONSIBILITIES:

Visual Design

You have diverse experience with everything from marketing campaigns to corporate branding across all channels

Collateral Design

You have created impactful communications using your expert knowledge of typography, composition, color theory and your artistic selection and treatment of photography to communicate effectively with audiences


Digital Design

Websites, micro sites, landing pages, email templates, representational UI, social media content, and digital ads are in your arsenal


Presentation Design

From main-stage keynotes to executive/ sales presentations, your decks tell a clean, focused story with visuals that keep viewers engaged


Event Design

You help bring experiences to life with conference guides, posters, swag, signage, and much more!


Video and/or Motion Design

You have a passion for seeing designs come to life with some experience in video, animations, or other forms of motion design that results in immersive, highly engaging content

  • Develop guidelines and templates, asset libraries to help scale the brand across internal ecosystems like demand gen, product marketing, sales, partner marketing, employer branding, internal comms, and more
  • Work with Creative Lead to evolve and expand Zuora’s visual brand language, brand identity system, photography, illustration, and video disciplines
  • Help provide guidance for scaling any motion graphics or video templates to distribute to the overall marketing team.



QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 8+ years of experience designing compelling brand, marketing, and experience creative
  • An awe-inspiring portfolio showcasing your understanding of fundamental disciplines and principles such as color, composition, typography and photography usage across physical and digital mediums with detailed descriptions of your process, role, and contribution.
  • You stay relevant - you understand marketing at large, plus existing and emerging design, digital media, social and cultural trends, and how to adapt to the changing technology landscape
  • You are always looking for inspiration - you are obsessed with great brands, writing, content, design, art, photography and interiors. You collect quality inspiration from unexpected sources (e.g., outside of tech) and apply that to your daily work.
  • You set a very high bar for the quality of the work you produce
  • You understand and can execute Design Systems effectively
  • Ability to think at a high, conceptual level about design and marketing strategy but also act–with speed and precision–to identify and deliver the tactical pieces that realize it
  • Able to work autonomously to execute on a vision

  • Experience in developing design systems, templates and branding toolkits

  • Guidance and development of video templates or motion graphics that can be used by a non-creative
  • Experience working in a high-volume production environment
  • Keen eye for photography and motion/video editing experience
  • Experience designing executive-level decks through PowerPoint and Keynote to present to C-level audiences
  • Work collaboratively and constructively with stakeholders across the company
  • A can-do attitude, and comfortability working in ambiguity, grey-areas and/or a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization

  • Naturally creative and analytical, a conceptual thinker who also has a very strong eye for detail

  • Collaborative, ambitious, results-driven
  • Experience with UX and UI design practices: interaction flows, wireframes, prototypes, pixel perfect comps, etc.
  • Fluent in design thinking and the tools of the trade, including Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficient in G Suite and Microsoft Office (especially Google Slides and PowerPoint)
    Candidates must submit a portfolio or samples of work along with their application to be considered for the role, and should expect to deliver a portfolio review as part of the interview process
