Position Summary:

MobilityWare is looking for a passionate, collaborative, talented, and experienced leader to guide the game design for a portfolio of mobile games, including an exciting new game in development.  We need a game design leader who has the breadth of experience from games in pre-production to live games with active LiveOps and new feature development.  You will be responsible for generating and implementing an inspiring game design vision for the studio to rally behind. You will lead and mentor a diverse team of game designers, ranging from new designers early in their careers to senior game designers. You will report to the VP in charge of the studio.

Responsibilities:

• Mentor and inspire a talented team of game designers to create compelling designs for all games in the Studio.
• Drive creation and iteration of FTUE designs to maximize early retention rates.
• Drive creation and iteration of compelling core loop mechanics resulting in strong player engagement and retention.
• Inspire compelling meta game mechanics resulting in strong long-term retention.
• Create and present new game pitches for executive team designed to fuel future revenue growth for the Studio.
• Work closely with peer directors to build a high performing leadership team for the Studio.

Qualifications for Position:

• Game design related college or university degree: BA or BFA
• 8+ years mobile game development experience, 3+ years as a Game Design Director or Creative Director working on mobile games
• 5+ years’ experience working on casual free-to-play mobile games for Android and iOS
• Game design leadership on multiple shipped titles, and through all phases of the product life cycle from conception to live operations
• Deep experience in systems design and free-to-play economy design.
• Deep experience in core loop design, testing, optimization, and iteration incorporating player feedback and analytics.
• Drive creation and iteration of FTUE designs to maximize early retention rates.
• Drive creation and iteration of compelling core loop mechanics resulting in strong player engagement and retention.
• Inspire compelling meta game mechanics resulting in strong long-term retention.
• Create and present new game pitches for executive team designed to fuel future revenue growth for the Studio.
• People management experience including writing annual reviews and career development plans for game designers
• Outstanding communication, organization, time management, and interpersonal skills
• Work closely with peer directors to build a high performing leadership team for the Studio.
• Mentor and inspire a talented team of game designers to create compelling designs for all games in the Studio.
