Corvus is reimagining commercial insurance at the convergence of three of the hottest areas in technology: data science, cyber security and machine learning. Data Scientists at Corvus are a key component of our mission to find and use alternative sources of data that can help our clients mitigate risk and make the world a safer place. Â
We’re looking for a Cyber Security Engineer who isn’t intimidated by the prospect of working with large, messy data sets. You’ll play a critical role in defining how data science can solve business problems, and will be responsible for the full data science life cycle, including defining the problem, prototyping data pipelines and building and implementing data science and machine learning products into client facing systems. This is a new and highly visible role in which you’ll work closely with Product Managers, Software Engineers and Underwriters to expand the reach and impact of our data products.Â
Responsibilities
- Support the data science team’s cyber data acquisition and enrichment efforts, through prototyping new data products and supporting partnership efforts
- Contribute to our cyber security risk assessment products and communicate insights to underwriters and policyholders
- Collaborate with the Threat Intelligence team to build data driven dynamic underwriting and pricing tools
- Collaborate with Product Managers and the Insurance Team to translate business problems into data problems, and solve them
- Mentor peers on the technology team about security industry trends, and act as a security data subject matter expertÂ
- Clearly communicate analysis and train stakeholders to use our security data products
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in analytical information security roles, including threat hunting, cyber threat intelligence, red teaming or penetration testing.Â
- Knowledge of current security trends, threats, and mitigations
- Experience working with cyber threat intelligence data, including open source and other common industry vendors
- Ability to prototype security data products and integrate with external APIs utilizing Python, Bash or other scripting languages
- Expertise with SQL or other database querying languageÂ
- You are curious and able to adapt to different domains

We believe in paying equitably for performance. Actual salaries will vary and may be
above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to
experience, skills, internal equity, market data, and geography. Please note that the
salary range that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only. The base
salary range for this position is: $127,000 - $147,000, subject to final approval. Â This position may
be eligible for performance-based incentives.Â
