About the role:

As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, you'll embed within a client team specializing in security engineering and leveraging DevSecOps methodology.

You will stand out as the Vulnerability Manager, working closely with different teams and their leadership to talk through identified vulnerabilities, analyze complexities within the systems, and determine best practices for troubleshooting. You'll rely on your knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS to provide ways forward for the client, while also supporting teammates and empowering product teams across the client's portfolio.

At the Senior level, we expect you to come in with an appropriate knowledge level, but you’ll still be working to develop professional expertise to resolve a variety of issues. Your job complexity may include problems assigned to you within your team, and you’d have the support of other engineers to reliably deliver tasks. We expect you to write simple features without guidance and be able to test them. You also troubleshoot and fix basic bugs without guidance. You’re also expected to operate off general instructions on your routine work, with detailed instructions only for new projects. Your behavior at the Senior level is also critical—we expect you to proactively communicate progress to your team and attempt to unblock yourself. Of course, seeking guidance when needed is also okay. It’s up to you to grow in the role from here!

What we are looking for:  

• 5+ years of experience with Terraform, SIEM, AWS, Single Sign On (SSO), and IDP like Okta
• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing multiple AWS environments, like VPCs, firewalls, or Cloud Trail
• Experience with AWS cloud formation and cloud hardening for cyber security requirements
• DevSecOps CI/CD experience
• Experience with cloud and traditional network and OS management and hardening
• Linux and Windows hardening experience
• Willing to occasionally work in a SIPR (airgapped) environment, on a quarterly basis
• Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel 
• Obtain Security+ within the first 90 days of employment with Raft

Highly preferred: 

• Vulnerability Manager experience
• RMF experience
• Passionate about building automation in languages like Python, GoLang, or Typescript 
• Certifications such as CKA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional

Clearance Requirements:  

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. SECRET Security Clearance 

Work Type:  

• Remote;
• Must live within 1 hour driving distance or be willing to travel (about one day every 60 days) to one of these locations: 
  • Dayton OH, Boston MA, Destin FL, Oklahoma City OK, San Antonio TX, Salt Lake City UT, Arlington VA
