Job Summary: This is an exciting role in an innovative company. The ideal candidate for the position is someone with robust security engineering experience working inside fast-moving, forward thinking startups. In this role, you will be working on the Cybersecurity team, and closely with the IT and Networking teams.   

  

Responsibilities:   

  • Plan, implement, and deploy cutting-edge cybersecurity infrastructure  
  • Build and maintain pipelines for data ingested from endpoints, SaaS, and multitenancy cloud infrastructure 
  • Focus on threat detection and detection engineering 
  • Enhance Epirus’ vulnerability management program 
  • Participate in on-call rotations for security incident triage and response 
  • Mentor junior members of the team in security engineering best practices 
  • Ensure adherence to industry-relevant compliance frameworks 


Basic Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of hands-on Security Engineering experience  
  • Familiarity with at least one general purpose programming language (Python, Go, etc.)  
  • Strong emphasis on security automation and using SOAR tools 
  • Experience with management and data ingestion to a SIEM 
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and cloud security paradigms 
  • Experience participating as an incident responder 
  • Experience working with Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and proxy services such as Zscaler or Netskope 
  • Experience managing EDR/XDR platforms, email security, and IDS/IPS tools 

  

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, Agile-focused startup environment 
  • Aerospace/defense and/or military cybersecurity experience 
  • Experience utilizing cross platform, enterprise MDM tools 
  • Familiarity working within IDPs such as Microsoft Entra and Okta 
  • Strong understanding of attacker TTPs (tactics, techniques, and procedures) 
  • Familiar with defense-specific compliance frameworks such as NIST SP 800-171, CIS Benchmarks, and ISO standards 
  • Experience with NIST 800-53 and the RMF 
  • Possess industry-relevant certifications such as Security+, AWS, or CISSP 
  • Must be able to obtain a US Security Clearance

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. 

For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is:

$136,000—$175,000 USD
