What you’ll master:

As a Sr. Data Analyst at Capstone Logistics, Freight Management Division, you will support leadership with insights gained from analyzing both company data and external data sources across the trucking industry. The ideal candidate is adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimizations and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. Experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, and creating/utilizing algorithms and models is important. Candidate must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights while working cross-departmentally. We are looking for a professional with a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes. Some Specific Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions through trends and patterns
• Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
• Develop a deep understanding of the company pricing analytics platform and operational algorithms, creating processes and tools to monitor and analyze performance
• Use predictive modeling/machine learning to optimize proprietary products and tools, increase revenue generation and overall business outcomes
• Present solutions and strategies using data visualization techniques to stakeholders as well as the solutions implementation/product development team
• Documenting processes and research as well as contribute to the efficiency, effectiveness, and improvement of LDL data science best practices

What we’re looking for:

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations, Research or related field.
• Excellent quantitative analysis skills, able to take mixed data as an input and derive actionable recommendations as output.
• Ability to visualize data and present core insights in a clear and compelling way.
• Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks
• Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques, predictive modeling, operations research, informatics and tools, e.g., R, Python and experience with application
• Excellent written and communication skills
• 5+ years in consultative data analytics
• 3+ years logistics experience encouraged
