Summary

Corporate FP&A are responsible for managing the NCR Finance's organizations tools, processes, metrics, and cadence. The organization is uniquely positioned within NCR Finance to work across all of NCR's businesses, the centralized vantage point gives a great foundation on understanding how NCR operates as a company and is tasked with not only ensuring that the business planning functions are organized and enabled to deliver, but also with root-causing, tracking, and proactively identifying key drivers of success across the company's financial results.

Senior Data Analyst will provide detailed, root cause analysis, assist other analysts on team with problem solving and brain storming, and work with more senior teammates on high visibility deliverables with quick turnarounds. They will also be responsible for dataset manipulation and creation projects during major infrastructure or process changes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist other analysts on the team with the following topics: understanding NCR's 7-Segment and 9-Segment Charts of Accounts, querying NCR data systems, and best practices for analyzing NCR financial data
  • Review and answer data integrity questions posed by FP&A teams, Finance VPs, etc., particularly those which require in-depth analysis and quick turn-around times
  • Pull, consolidate, visualize data into insights for business and Finance leadership
  • Provide ad hoc analysis on financial data for the Corporate VP of Finance on several occasions
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team's manager more complex analysis and use of statistics for CFP&A deliverables, examples include remapping all the NCR's financial data to new dimensions and creating data sets using the distributions of past data extrapolated onto plan and forecast data

Basic Qualifications

  • Graduate with Business, Finance, Data Analytics, MIS, Computer Science or related degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications with exceptional Excel skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Capable of communicating effectively with stakeholders and leadership team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive issues to resolution
  • Ability to analyze data and large data sets is crucial
  • Ability to learn at a rapid pace and desire to learn new technologies
  • Self-starter who can coordinate multiple activities with shifting priorities and tight timeframes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven root cause analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly find an issue in the data and explain back, through data visualization and written word, the problem and the proposed solution
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts, including data distributions
  • Skillful at creating data summaries, visualizations that are easy for their audience to understand quickly
  • Experience working in python, Tableau prep, Alteryx, etc. to manipulate large sets of data when Excel is not efficient
  • Evidence of ability to document processes clearly and concisely with detail-oriented precision
  • Project Management skills/experience; ability to work across an org chart
