Senior Data Analyst Associate (Cota, Inc) (New York, NY): Develop real-world data analytic products for the oncology space. A naturally curious analyst who can employ various analytics and data science techniques to help further COTA’s business goal of bringing clarity to cancer. The candidate will join the Analytics team, whose mission is to ensure delivery of data products, with quality and ensure that the data model used to deliver these products is sound. The Analytics team is also involved in bringing data into COTA, and in this regard, the candidate should be able to help with data cleanup, mapping and standardizing into a data lake or warehouse. with the operations, engineering, and clinical teams to define analytic requirements, enhance data quality, and deliver publication-caliber analysis. Must possess a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related field. Academic coursework or professional experience must incl. the following skills/tools/technologies: Descriptive and predictiv statistics; Experience working with statistical programming tools, such as R or Python; Experience with Jupyter Notebooks, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Dask, Docker, or BigQuery; Experience with Google Cloud Platform; Development and deployment of code (version control and CI/CD). The core responsibilities of the position include; helping to deliver data products to customers. enabling the above delivery of data products to customers through new or existing data pipeline automation on Cloud Native or Cloud deployed technologies, becoming the internal and external expert on COTA’s data model; confidently representing our data capabilities to other teams as well as external partners, helping improve data pipeline accuracy by using data science and/or machine learning techniques, suggest, implement, and manage priorities for improvements to COTA’s data model based on business needs and client feedback, represent the Analytics team in partnering with the operations, engineering, and clinical teams to define analytic requirements, enhance data quality.examine analytical results for robustness, validity, and out of sample stability and present findings to various stakeholders across the organization. The day to day activities of the position include; create code to help the Data Product Pipeline, mentor junior analysts on data analysis and code techniques, review work from team members , work with Operations, Product and Medical teams to ensure their success through data analysis and queries, help maintain Inventory Tool and other Data Analysis APIs. The qualifications and skills for this role include; Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent, 2+ years of experience as a data analyst / engineer in a data focused environment and role, knowledge of best practices with data wrangling/mapping/cleansing, and other state-of-the-art relevant computational techniques and processes, strong Python data science skill set is a must, strong SQL skills, strong knowledge of engineering practices for development and deployment of code (version control + CI/CD), solid foundational knowledge of descriptive and predictive statistics, passionate about data quality and able to clearly articulate its importance to internal and external partners in specific contexts, collaborative self-starter. COTA is a startup environment and you will be working cross-functionally daily with other data analysts / scientists, engineers, medical professionals, and business professionals. Must have oncology experience. The soft skills for this role include; clear and strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, documentation (technical and non-technical) skills, ability to collaborate with other peers and senior / principal engineers, effective time management based on priorities dictated by the business, self-assessment and situational assessment skills, service orientation toward customers (both internal and external) resilient in the face of adversity, ability to solve technical and business problems with help from other team members collaboratively. Highly desirable skills for this role include; research experience with oncology, genomics or bioinformatics, experience with Jupyter Notebooks, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Dask, Docker, BigQuery, experience with Google Cloud Platform or other cloud platforms, experience with agile process and a comfort with pivots based on business direction. The salary range for this role is $122,122 - $132,122
