Senior Data Analyst - Transportation Optimization

Position Summary...
What you'll do...

• Applied Business Acumen: Provides recommendations to business stakeholders to solve complex business issues. Develops business cases for projects with a projected return on investment or cost savings. Translates business requirements into projects, activities, and tasks and aligns to overall business strategy. Serves as an interpreter and conduit to connect business needs with tangible solutions and results.
• Problem Formulation: Translates business problems within one's discipline to data related or mathematical solutions. Identifies what methods (for example, analytics, big data analytics, automation) would provide a solution for the problem. Shares use cases and gives examples to demonstrate how the method would solve the business problem.
• Exploratory Data Analysis: Collects and tabulates data and evaluates results to determine accuracy, validity, and applicability. Supports the identification and application of statistical techniques based on requirements. Applies suitable technique under direction from leadership. Assists in the planning, design and implementation of exploratory data analysis research projects.
• Data Source Identification: Supports the understanding of the priority order of requirements and service level agreements. Helps identify the most suitable source for data that is fit for purpose. Performs initial data quality checks on extracted data.
• Data Visualization: Generates appropriate graphical representations of data and model outcomes. Work alongside business customers to capture requirements and design appropriate data representation for multiple data sets.
• Data Strategy: Understands, articulates, and applies principles of the defined strategy to routine business problems that involve a single function.
• Process Management: Monitors operational performance utilizing analytics tools & techniques in support of continuous improvement. Partners with cross-functional stakeholders to identify losses and implement countermeasures.

• Data Quality Management: Sets up data quality processes to ensure analytical and optimization processes generate the right output. Be able to assess whether issues in optimization are due to faulty data

• You have proven working experience of optimization
• You have a passion for learning how to work with new languages and data and analytical setups
• You have good knowledge of scripting languages like SQL and Python
• You have proven working experience of using Big Query, including table design
• You have good knowledge of data visualization software like Tableau and Power BI
• You have technical proficiency regarding data management and automation
• A passion to find patterns in data and identify business opportunity areas
• You show attention to detail and can catch patterns in data earlier than other folks
• You have built exception reporting (using outlier detection or other analytical techniques) and connected processes
• You can present insights from data in the form of a good story
• You love working with other stakeholders to drive process improvements based on data analysis and optimization

Nice to Haves/Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum three years' experience designing and deploying optimization solutions within the Blue Yonder
• TMS Minimum three years' experience delivering advanced analytics and solution recommendations leveraging BY Transportation Modeler
• Demonstrated ability to assess complex network design issues, develop, & recommend solutions to leadership across a multifunctional leadership team
• Demonstrated ability to utilize (SQL) to manipulate large data sets and present information in a format that drives adoption of new solutions within the organization
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with teams to deliver results in a fast and results driven environment
