Senior Data Analytics Engineer – Hospitality Tech

This role sits at the core of building a scalable, data-driven reporting ecosystem for a fast-growing hospitality and retail technology platform. You will be responsible for designing and implementing the foundational data architecture that powers client-facing analytics, dashboards, and automated reporting across multiple venues and accounts. Working in a highly technical and collaborative environment, you will transition the platform from manual reporting processes to a robust, automated data pipeline infrastructure. Your work will directly impact how brands, venues, and partners understand customer behavior, campaign performance, and operational efficiency. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who thrives on building systems from scratch and shaping long-term data strategy. You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams in a fully remote, high-autonomy setup.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and evolving the end-to-end data infrastructure that enables scalable analytics and reporting across multiple clients, venues, and data sources.

• Design and build scalable data warehouse architecture using BigQuery, including datasets, tables, and reporting views.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest and unify data from APIs, webhooks, scheduled syncs, and third-party tools.
• Implement and manage GA4 exports into BigQuery, ensuring clean alignment across accounts, campaigns, venues, and subscriptions.
• Integrate multiple data sources such as CMS platforms, marketing tools, POS systems, and behavioral tracking systems.
• Create optimized SQL models to transform raw data into structured, reporting-ready datasets for BI tools.
• Establish data validation, monitoring, and quality assurance processes to ensure pipeline reliability.
• Document data architecture, schemas, transformations, and business logic to support scalability and collaboration.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate tracking implementation and privacy-conscious data handling.

Requirements

This position requires strong technical expertise in data engineering and a proven ability to build scalable analytics systems from the ground up in complex environments.

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data-focused roles.
• Mandatory experience building a data warehouse or analytics database from scratch.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with BigQuery.
• Proven track record of building and scaling ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Deep understanding of GA4, event-based analytics, and data modeling for reporting.
• Experience integrating multiple data sources via APIs, webhooks, or scheduled sync processes.
• Strong documentation practices and attention to data governance and quality assurance.
• Experience with BI tools such as Looker Studio or similar reporting platforms is highly valued.
• Familiarity with Python or cloud-based scripting tools is a plus.
• Exposure to hospitality, retail, SaaS analytics, or multi-tenant reporting environments is an advantage.
