How will you make an impact in this role?
- Performs enterprise and platform-specific aspects of data strategy and data architecture in alignment with platform blueprints for assigned applications, including leading data governance initiatives, developing prototypes, promoting adoption of new database management systems, DBMS functionality and related tools as applicable
- Partners with Senior Data Engineers, Senior Data Architects and product teams to craft and define the standards for enterprise meta data and associated data governance principles
- Performs transformation of logical data architectures into physical data designs on large or complex systems, according to database design best practices and standards
- Functions as Senior member of an agile team and leads data assets as per the enterprise standards, guidelines and policies
- Typically spends 50% of time in data strategy and data architecture development and remainder of time collaborating with partners through ongoing product/platform releases
- Contributes to decisions about tools, methods and approaches
- Support hands-on design and alignment of strategy, architecture, tools/methods with E2E PD&I teams, software engineers and architects to execute product roadmaps
- Fully understands the platform roadmap and quality priorities to proactively envision scalable, resilient high performing solutions; able to identify reusability at platform level and drive the tooling and overall delivery strategy to stay ahead of technology standards.
- Setting and managing the product quality standards and metrics for platform, collect, maintain and report metrics at portfolio level. Identify patterns, gaps/risk and opportunities from the metrics to drive innovation and improvement, platform trend analysis
- Coach, provide guidance on platform level innovations, supports training and development of best practices of platform, innovation, standards
- Works with team to identify project/portfolio challenges and report/escalate as needed
- Collaborate with a wide variety to partners within business and technology teams to inspire change required to execute product roadmaps
- Promote newly onboarded tools, promote innovation, best practices and efficiency
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred
- 8-10 years of experience in Technology, with an emphasis on data architecture, and database development experience in a professional environment and/or comparable experience such as
- Proven experience leading teams of Data Engineers and Data Architects
- Hands on expertise in developing data architecture for applications utilizing one or more database management systems (e.g. IMS, DB2 zOS, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Netezza(PDA/DB2AA), Hadoop, MapR) as appropriate
- Experience with database development and support of OLTP and/or OLAP systems
- Well versed with data warehousing concepts, experienced with data mapping & profiling
- Strong analytical skills with a demonstrable ability to understand and document business data requirements in complete, accurate, extensible
- Mastered Metadata Management and Database Management
- Demonstrated experience with Agile, Agile at scale (SAFe), other rapid application development methods, and SDLC
- Making impactful changes by influencing leadership and making timely decisions
- Knowledge of Data Testing & SQL experience is a plus
- Excellent documentation and tracking as appropriate, for driving data strategy forward
Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
