Senior Data Engineer

Job Description

Fragomen, an AmLaw 100 Firm and the leading global immigration services provider, is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Snowflake COE team in the BI/Data Services organization to build and operationalize data foundation platforms necessary for the enterprise data and analytics and insights initiatives, following industry standard practices and tools.

The bulk of the work would be in building, managing, and optimizing data pipelines and then moving them effectively into production for key data and analytics consumers like business/data analysts, data scientists or any person that needs curated data for data and analytics use cases across the enterprise. In addition, guarantee compliance with data governance and data security requirements while creating, improving, and operationalizing these integrated and reusable data pipelines.

How you will make a difference as a Data Engineer with Fragomen:

• Development of high-quality database solutions.
• Hands on experience in building ETL packages/Pipelines using SSIS, Informatica, Talend, etc
• Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers
• Convert data into actionable insights by predicting and modelling future outcomes
• Advanced SQL knowledge including Database Modelling & Design.
• Identify, analyses and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
• Experienced in handling large datasets. Should have experience working with complex SQL & common programming languages like Python.
• Query optimization and performance tuning.
• Should have a strong technical knowledge in writing Queries / Sub Queries - Stored procedures / Functions / Triggers / Unions
• Strong knowledge in database concepts, database performance tuning, data profiling and data validation, dimensional modelling.
• Good to have hands on experience in Snowflake.
• Create and maintain rich and interactive visualizations through data interpretation tools and build scripts for ad hoc data analysis.
• Develop/explore new technology tools and features.
• Must be a good team player
• Should be able to plan and execute data migration
• Ability to learn & explore new tools & technologies.

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, or relevant experience
• Overall, 6-10 years of experience in BI and Data Engineering.
• At least 4+ years of experience in SQL development
• 3 years' experience in building ETL package using SSIS, Informatica, Talend, etc
• A solid experience and understanding of architecting, designing and operationalization of large-scale data and analytics solutions on Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse is a Plus
• Passionate about complex data structures and problem solving
• Excellent analytical skills to analyze business needs
• Good written and verbal communication skills
