Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Philadelphia-based WiFi Engineer team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and analyzing product specifications and WiFi Architecture for Company WiFi and Customer Premises Equipment (customer premise equipment) products.
Job Description
The Senior Data Engineer assists in various project teams, developing test strategies, and designing best practices. Interfaces with the enterprise architecture team, device software team, cloud software team and other functional areas to ensure that the most efficient solution is designed to meet business needs (well-engineered, operable, maintainable and delivered on schedule). Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams or projects and shares expertise.
This team is based in our cutting-edge Comcast Technology Center in downtown Philadelphia, and collaborates in-person on a hybrid basis.
Core Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to map user stories to deliverable solutions.
- Build solution architecture documents for engineering teams.
- Map product requirements to engineering requirements.
- Generate WiFi high level design and architecture document.
- Generate optimal in-home, mesh, outdoor architectures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve targeted product performance optimization.
- Set system performance key performance indicators for wireless subsystems.
- Interface and collaborate with wireless chipset vendors to ensure system requirements.
- Provide customer experience network optimization roadmap and customer premise equipment roadmap.
- Attend and contribute to wireless standards relevant to the company.
- Prepare standards contribution content; reviews internal WiFi roadmaps and maps to standards readiness.
- Monitor and create contributions for standards.
- Mentor, review code and verify object-oriented design best practices and architectural guidelines are adhered to.
- Design and develop updated infrastructure in support of one or more business processes.
- Optimize WiFi radio parameters to elevate the customer experience and develop metrics to show improvement.
- Build setups to mimic real world environmental conditions.
- Research traffic models and industry trends to provide relevant data for laboratory conditions.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Python
- 5+ years of experience in custom ETL design, implementation and maintenance
- 5+ Experience in Database technologies, SQL, MySQL, Elastic search, ETLs and framework development.
- 3+ year of experience with Data Modeling
- 3+ Experience working on Big Data
- 5+ Experience with data analysis and visualization, particularly Tableau, Splunk
- Experience processing large data sets
- Strong experience with Spark, Hive, Pig, Flume, Sqoop, Kafka, Amazon RDS, Amazon Redshift, GCP
- Experience with data quality and validation
