ADTRAV is seeking a Senior Data Engineer that is excited about problem-solving and working with data, with a strong personal desire to succeed. This is a remote position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Maintain ADTRAV's data warehouse with timely and quality data.
• Build and maintain data pipelines from internal databases and external sources, such as flat files.
• Build data structures and tables/databases.
• Create and maintain architecture and systems documentation.
• Generate architecture recommendations and implement as adopted.
• Write maintainable, performant code.
• Implement the DataOps philosophy in all work product and output.
• Plan and execute system expansion as needed to support the company's growth and analytic needs.
• Collaborate with other functions and departments to ensure data needs are addressed.
• Perform code reviews and address bugs and issues.
• Improve, manage, and teach standards for code maintainability and performance in code submitted and reviewed.
• Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time.
• Use Agile development tools to track and communicate project progress.
• Work with partners and internal teams on issues with data ingestion.
• Understand and implement data engineering best practices.

• Stay up to date on new information technologies and emerging trends, and their possible application in the company.
• Work non-standard business hours to attend meetings and provide support via text/phone/email in a 24/7/365 environment.
• Represent ADTRAV by embracing the company values and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, partners, vendors, and clients.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years of experience deploying production quality code.
• Experience using Python for data processing and with data-related Python packages.
• Deep understanding of SQL and analytical data warehouses; SQL Server preferred.
• Experience implementing ETL or ELT best practices at scale.
• Strong data modeling skills and familiarity with the Data Vault and/or Star Schema.
• Experience with data pipeline tools such as Airflow, Luigi, Azkaban, Prefect, etc.

• Experience in Agile SDLC methodologies (Kanban and Scrum).

• Hands on experience with C# a plus.
• Experience with source control such as Git or TFS.
• Experience with issue tracking systems such as Jira, Azure DevOps.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly self-motivated and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment while balancing both strategic and tactical responsibilities.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• "Can do" problem solving mentality, while still respecting standards, quality, and security.
• Desire to continually keep up with advancements in data engineering and improve product quality, security, and performance.
• Able to present a professional and positive demeanor with internal and external customers/clients and work cooperatively.
• Ability to work remotely and meet the company home-office requirements.
• Able to maintain confidentiality of company and client information.
• Able to work outside of normal business hours and provide 24/7/365 support to team.
• Able to successfully pass a credit, criminal, and/or employment reference background check.
