Position Overview:
We are looking for a talented Senior Data Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our data lake. The ideal candidate will have experience in data engineering, leading a team of engineers and implementing changes to the current data structure. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large-scale datasets from various sources.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data Scientists, Analysts, and Software Engineers) to define data requirements and implement solutions.
- Architect and maintain data warehouses, ensuring efficient storage, retrieval, and query performance.
- Implement ETL processes, data modeling, and schema design.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, addressing performance bottlenecks and ensuring data quality.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data engineering.
- Drive the integration of ML and AI into business reporting, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Manage an outsourced team of data engineers, ensuring effective collaboration, project delivery, and quality work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software development.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Scala for data manipulation and scripting.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Experience managing teams.
- Familiarity with Credit Card Processing.
- Strong understanding of distributed computing, data modeling, and database systems.
- Familiarity with Databricks for data processing, analytics, and machine learning.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
