About you:

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building and testing efficient data flows supporting the value-based management services organization ("MSO") and wholly owned segments of CareMax. In this role, the Senior Data Engineer will work within a newly formed team, collaborating within the organization and with vendors to create data solutions to meet the company objectives. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in clinical and claims data and have expertise in analytical uses of that data.

Qualifications and Skills

• Advanced level experience in relational database systems. SQL Server preferred. 7+ years
• Advanced level T-SQL
• Experience with query performance optimization
• Knowledge of ETL processes
• Healthcare experience, preferably with EMR/EHR and claims data. 2+ years
• Excellent communication skills (English)
• Ability to work remote (EST time zone), in-person in Miami or Hybrid

Bonus Points if you have experience with:

• Jira
• Working in a SCRUM environment
• Health Catalyst
• API development (REST, SOAP, etc.)
• Experience working with healthcare quality measures (MIPS, HEDIS, STARS, etc.)
• Scripting languages (R, Python, etc.)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, working with product owners to ensure completeness. Use industry knowledge to make recommendations where appropriate.
• Utilizing a data warehouse product (SQL Server based), create advanced queries and data flows to support reporting and applications.
• Create process automations.
• Working within the team, help design, implement, and support data quality checks.
• Collaborate within the team to define best practices along with development and data governance standards.
• Perform code reviews.
• Mentor and train junior engineers.
• Comply with HIPAA regulations.
