Senior Data Engineer

Are you looking to make an impact with a growing company? Passionate about technology and strategy? Winnebago Industries is seeking a Senior Data Engineer based out of Eden Prairie, MN. This is a hands-on position responsible for leading technical aspects of IT solution delivery, strategic planning, and operational excellence. This role will be responsible for building and supporting data and integrations across Winnebago Industries. The Sr. Data Engineer will manage and oversee design of solutions to meet the business needs and support the overall IT strategy. This role will also partner with business managers, architecture, security, and operations teams to drive cross-awareness of business needs and opportunities.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Maintain on premise legacy data warehouse and ETL jobs
• Build new data structures and data pipelines (ETL/ELT) in Azure cloud
• Develops new data models in Data Lakehouse using delta architecture
• With Agile product team, partners with business stakeholders to ensure shared outcome
• Shared ownership of data quality, data integrity, privacy, and protection
• Assists in design and implementation of new data models
• Builds new and maintains existing data integrations
• Ensure quality code, automate processes wherever possible
• Optimize underperforming pipelines
• Other duties as assigned based on business need

Critical Competencies

• ETL using SQL Server SSIS, T-SQL
• Spark (PySpark preferred, Azure Databricks preferred)
• Kimball data modelling, Lakehouse / Delta architecture
• Experience writing Powershell scripts
• DAX experience, creating Power BI tabular data models preferred
• Experience with writing Power Apps preferred
• Ability to effectively communicate and work directly with business stakeholders to ensure requirements are met
• Expertise managing the lifecycle of technical solutions
• Deep Subject Matter Expertise within the respective system domain products, platforms, processes, and architecture
• Broad general knowledge of technology architecture, infrastructure, network, and software principles and models
• Experience working in partnership with internal and external vendors.
• Experience with delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum) and operational models (ITIL)

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 10 Years' experience in ETL / ELT Development, Data Warehouse / Data Lake / Lakehouse design, and data modeling
• 5+ Years SSIS / SQL server
• 3+ Years Spark / Databricks
