Senior Data Engineer

Goldbelly empowers the top food makers around the country to sell their specialty dishes (think deep dish pizza from Chicago, iconic Texas BBQ, etc) to food-lovers nationwide. The data team at Goldbelly maintains analytic and engineering solutions, both of which heavily rely on robust and high-quality data from both in-house and external sources. The engineering pod depends on optimized ETL/ELT processes to manage various machine learning solutions, while the analytics pod provides key insights based on our data for the broader company.

As a Data Engineer, you will actively support both work-streams by delivering high-impact data pipelines and maintaining our central data warehouse. You will work closely with both teams to develop novel transformations that drive business decisions, and build upon our data architecture to integrate key datasets in ML pipelines. You will play a key role in maintaining scalability, performance, and data quality across the company’s broad data ecosystem.

• Design, implement, and manage data pipelines to support analytic and ML initiatives, involving both structured and unstructured data across multiple environments and tools
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement on data-related needs across the wider organization
• Review code and enforce quality in each step of our data processes, from raw datasets to final reports
• Contribute to broader data governance efforts

• Strong proficiency in SQL and OOP languages such as Python, Java, or C/C++
• Experience in ETL/ELT development and data warehouse management
• Experience with database schema design
• Experience with modern data engineering tools (i.e. Kafka, Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, Spark, etc.)
• Demonstrated attention to detail and problem solving skills

Salary Range: $140,000–$200,000 / year
