ABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking a talented, hands-on Senior Data Engineer to join our expanding engineering organization where you will have the opportunity to design and build a modern data pipeline. This person will join a stellar team and will be expected to function in a high-autonomy, dynamic, and fast-paced environment, meeting ambitious deadlines and getting the best out of team members, all while communicating thoughtfully to stakeholders. Â
The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline developer who enjoys data wrangling, optimizing data flows, and building solutions for data collection and analysis. They are experienced with designing, developing and deploying cloud-based data solutions. They are a team player who is passionate about building team culture. They enjoy a fast-paced environment, solving business problems with the use of data.
RESPONSIBILITIESAs a Senior Data Engineer you will be responsible for acting as our database subject matter expert to develop and execute the vision for our database architecture. Develop schema design for reports and analytics. Provide support to development teams while mentoring engineering team members on modern database architecture principles and best practices. Collaborate with internal architects to design and build out the ELT process from data ingestion to analytics marts. Monitor and analyze database performance and follow best practices of data engineering such as code reviews, scrum, and SDLC.
RELEVANT SKILLS & EXPERIENCE- 5+ years in a Data Engineering role with experience in data warehouses, fetching data from APIs, developing and maintaining ETL/ELT to service data marts, software applications or cloud microservices used to support data science applications
- Advanced SQL experience and database design
- Capable of working with large data sets from design to execution including structured and unstructured text
- Experience building and maintaining pipeline monitoring for latency, traffic, saturation, and errors
- Able to demonstrate advanced computer and analytical skills with particular knowledge and understanding of the following storage, computing, and tools:
- Snowflake and GCP or equivalent cloud-based data lake/OLAP/OLTP environments
APIs, Airflow, Cron, dbt
- Snowflake and GCP or equivalent cloud-based data lake/OLAP/OLTP environments
- Strong knowledge and working experience with Software Engineering development and deployment practices
- Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban with comfort level to work in iterative product driven cycles
- Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Scala, etc.
- Building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
- Working with CI/CD processes and source control tools such as GithubÂ
- Passion for education and our company mission

Correlation One is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to location, and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, experience, education and skill sets. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $100,000 - 130,000. Please note that the shared ranges are specific to the United States, and only reflects the base salary and does not include bonus, equity or benefits.
