Senior Data Engineer

About the Role
In this opportunity as Senior Data Engineer you will:
- Design, develop, optimize, and automate data pipelines that blend and transform data across different sources to help drive business intelligence, data science, and self-service data solutions
- Build workflows that source, transform, and load data that's both structured and unstructured keeping in mind data security and access controls
- Explore large volumes of data with curiosity and conviction
- Code, test, and document new/modified systems to create robust solutions for data analysis
- Contribute to the strategy and architecture of data management systems and solutions
- Proactively troubleshoot issues to help data engineers, data scientists, and data visualization experts
- Be open to learning and working on emerging technologies in the data engineering, data science and cloud computing space
- Have the curiosity to interrogate data, conduct independent research, utilize various techniques, and tackle ambiguous problems
- Design reports and dashboards for management with confidence and accuracy
- Seamlessly work with various business stakeholders, understand their needs, and design custom solutions
About You
You're a fit for the role of Senior Data Engineer if your background includes:
- Strong skills in querying languages like SQL and relational databases is required
- 5+ years' experience in data engineering, database administration, or similar data centric disciplines
- Experience using Alteryx, AWS Glue, AWS DataBrew, dbt or similar ETL and data blending solutions
- Data modelling knowledge of various schemas like snowflake and star
- Experience using on-prem data warehouse solutions such as Oracle or SQL Server or Cloud based solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift, or Business Objects
- Proven ability to build stored procedures, trigger functions and other solutions when needed
- Experience migrating data from on-premises services to the cloud
- Has built data pipelines and other custom automated solutions to speed the ingestion, analysis, and visualization of large volumes of data
- Extensive knowledge building ETL workflows, database design, and query optimization
