The Opportunity
As a member of the PTE Data Engineering and Architecture Team, you will work in multi-disciplinary environments harnessing data to provide real-world impact for our processes and products. You’ll work closely with a team of data scientists, subject matter experts and other data engineers in order to curate, transform and construct features which feed directly into our modeling approach. Additionally, you will contribute to the delivering data products and developing standards to guide data product teams throughout PT.
This role requires an individual who can and wants to collaborate, listen and learn from colleagues, challenge thoughtfully and prioritize impact of work. You will be responsible for finding improvements in advanced data analytic models and data architecture. We are looking for someone who can quickly adapt to an ever changing environment, has a passion to learn and can be trusted to work in the best interests of colleagues.

Interface with process SMEs using state-of-the-art technologies, and communicate complex ideas to non-technical/executive audiences

Implement data pipelines and data products per SME requirements, collaborate with Analytics translators, and understand/model data landscapes

Acquire, ingest, and process data from various sources into Big Data platforms, and prepare data for advanced analytical models

Champion delivery of Data Products, contribute to best practices, and coach junior data engineers on key expertise areas

Maintain Information Security standards and define the technology stack with the infrastructure team

Define templates and best practices for technology stack usage and use creative techniques for impactful delivery in client engagements and internal R&D projects
Who you are
-
University degree with 5+ years in bioprocess manufacturing sciences or 8+ years in fields such as Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics. Proven experience in building/managing data pipelines and developing data products

Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java for data pipelines and data warehousing. Experience with Dataiku and multiple database technologies (Hadoop, MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Teradata, Snowflake). Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google) and software engineering best practices (code reviews, testing frameworks, maintainability, readability)

Capable of working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data; extracting information and identifying linkages across disparate data sets

Ability to clearly communicate complex solutions to audiences with varying levels of technical experience and seniority

Deep understanding of Information Security principles to ensure compliant handling and management of process data

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills for optimizing results and strengthening relationships. Knowledge of cGMP’s, Health Authority regulations, and Quality Systems

Ability to work in international/global environments with 5-15% travel anticipated. Capable of working in clean room environments requiring gowning in hospital scrubs, and able to sit, stand, and move within workspace for extended periods. Able to work on co-located or remote cross-functional teams
