Senior Data Engineer (Remote)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL, Snowflake, Looker, and data pipelines. This role requires exceptional technical expertise, a deep understanding of data engineering principles, and a focus on delivering high-quality data solutions. The candidate should demonstrate a high level of ownership and accountability, taking responsibility for the end-to-end data engineering process.

What You Will Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines to support data processing, transformation, and storage.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and software engineers, to understand data requirements and design optimal data solutions.
• Optimize and tune existing data pipelines for better performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data validation and testing methodologies.
• Build and maintain efficient data models in Snowflake, including tables, views, and stored procedures.
• Develop complex SQL queries and optimize them for performance.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide timely and accurate data solutions.
• Enable the access of data pipelines you build and maintain in the Looker platform for application development.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, resolving any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and incorporate them into the development process.
• Mentor and guide junior data engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.

What You Will Have:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2+ years (preferably 4+ years) of experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on SQL, Snowflake, Looker, and Data Pipelines/ETL/ELT.
• Strong expertise in SQL query optimization, data modeling, and database design principles.
• Proficient in designing and implementing ETL/ELT workflows and data integration processes.
• Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehousing platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Looker or other business intelligence tools for building dashboards and reports.
• Solid understanding of data engineering best practices, data governance, and data security.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Java for data manipulation and automation tasks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data-related issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work in a team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and deliver high-quality results within defined timelines.
• Proven track record of working on multiple projects simultaneously and managing priorities effectively.
• Continuous learning mindset and a passion for keeping up with the latest advancements in data engineering and related technologies.
