WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our ED&A team to work within our engineering squads to develop and deliver high quality software solutions that solve specific business problems and grow Nike's digital businesses.

You will join a team of fellow engineers that cultivate an engineering culture with its roots in diversity, inclusion, and equality. As a team we embrace a DevOps culture and have a can-do mentality. We lead the products we build and support.

The candidate will have a passion for data, have a strong grasp of data engineering paradigms and bring an engineering experience that will help innovate and improve how we build our solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

If this is you, you will be working on technical solutions that serve other engineering, data, or business facing teams. Our technical solutions serve the end-to-end breadth of Nike, from building foundational data capabilities, creating analytical products to help the Nike business make better decisions, to optimizing our supply chain enabling our business to run as efficiently as possible.

We run agile squads where transparency and trust are key, and collectively bring a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement to the organization. You will be coaching and mentoring junior team members.

We build our products to run reliable and at scale. This means you will be asked to code your infrastructure and automatically build, test, and deploy your creations. Quality is built into our solutions up front, with a testing and quality mentality being a key attribute of our team. You will be asked to provide support by writing documentation and tutorials as well as providing guidance to users with a variety of technical skills.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH

You will be part of an agile scrum team, closely working with the Product Owner, Scrum Master and other team members that drive to deliver innovative data solutions. You will partner with business facing team members and other technology solution delivery, architecture, and platform teams.

Through our communities of practice, you will interact with engineers from multiple other squads to help define Nike's engineering culture, standards, and best practices, advocating for engineering excellence and innovation.

You will be reporting into engineering leadership, who will guide you to grow and build your career path.

WHAT YOU BRING

Typical Office: This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment.

- Minimum Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.

- 5+years of Software/Data engineering experience

- 4+years of building and maintaining Data Pipelines

- Strong demonstrated ability in two of the following programming languages- Python, Scala or Java.

- Strong Experience in processing Big Data and analyzing the data using Python, Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Apache Airflow, Hive & AWS.

- Strong Experience with AWS services like EMR, S3, DynamoDB

- Should have experience in micro services.

- Experienced in unit, functional and automated testing.

- Experienced in CI/CD process - GIT Jenkins

- Well-versed with Agile methodology.

- Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment

*Remote Work Option - open to remote work, except cannot work in South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia. These candidates will be required to relocate.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $98,000.00 to $192,500.00. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
