Summary
As an engineering consulting agency providing services to large enterprise organizations, Codazen is positioned to support and strongly influence the success of those organizations. As a Senior Data Engineer/Analyst at Codazen, you will partner with our customers, relevant stakeholders, data scientists, and software engineers to ensure value can be derived from data. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer/Analyst with a strong focus on data analysis, data forecasting, and data modeling to join our team. As a Senior Data Engineer/Analyst in this role, you will be responsible for extracting insights from complex datasets, developing accurate forecasts, building data pipelines, and designing robust data models to support data-driven decision-making. Your expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and data engineering will play a vital role in optimizing our data infrastructure and driving strategic business outcomes.
Role Responsibilities
- Cross-functional partnership with our customers to identify and understand data needs
- Design, develop, and deliver effective and reliable data pipelines
- Securely source new data that can enhance and improve the quality of information
- Proficient in developing data models that allow for efficient storage and effective retrieval
- Evaluate the potential value and impact of data engineering projects by assessing project scope, business requirements, and strategic objectives
- Prepare comprehensive reports, documentation, and presentations summarizing opportunity sizing analysis, findings, and recommendations
- In-depth knowledge of statistical techniques used in power analysis, such as sample size determination, effect size estimation, and power calculations
- Develop, implement, and evaluate advanced statistical models and forecasting techniques to analyze historical data and predict future trends
- Design and develop automation scripts and frameworks using programming languages (Python, etc.) to automate repetitive tasks
- Collect, clean, and preprocess data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
- Provide technical leadership to members of your team through mentorship, coaching, and knowledge sharing
- This is a hybrid position, 4 days on-site, 1 day WFH; Monday through Friday based out of Irvine, CA
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably with a focus on data analysis, opportunity sizing, project evaluation, and forecasting
- Strong knowledge of data storage, processing, and integration technologies
- Demonstrated ability in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing
- Excellent communication, analytical and collaborative problem-solving skills
- Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction
- 5+ years working with SQL
- 3+ years experience with Data Modeling
- 3+ years of relevant experience in cloud-based data engineering
- 2+ years of Python or other modern programming language experience
- 2+ years experience working with enterprise Data Engineering tools and experience learning in-house Data Engineering tools
Plus
- Solid programming foundation including object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures
- Experience with SQL performance tuning and end-to-end process optimization
- Experience with anomaly/outlier detection
- Experience with notebook-based Data Science workflow
- Experience with Big Data Technologies (NoSQL databases, Hive, Elasticsearch, etc.)
