Senior Data Engineering Consultant

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who will serve as a consultant on our Data & Insights team to support exciting consumer IoT products in a work from anywhere environment with people who truly care about you and your ideas.

Location: United States, Remote

Note: While you may be located anywhere in the U.S. for this role, many of our clients work in the Pacific Time Zone, so willingness to work in PT is required.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering 
• 4+ years of experience with scripting or coding (e.g., SQL, Python, JavaScript, PHP, VBScript, Ruby, Java) 
• 2+ years working on cloud-based data solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) or cloud data warehouses (e.g., Azure Synapse, Redshift, Snowflake)
• Data modeling experience
• Database sharding and partitioning experience
• Experience working with IoT products

Nice to have skills:

• Consulting experience or a role within a departmental or enterprise analytics shared service  
• 7+ years of experience as a data engineer, delivering end-to-end data technologies and solutions using scripting or coding 
• 4+ years working on cloud-based data solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) 
• 4+ years working with a cloud data warehouse or enterprise data warehouse EDW (e.g., Azure Synapse, Redshift, Snowflake, Oracle, Teradata, Netezza, Vertica, Greenplum, SAP Hana) 
• Knowledge of Azure IoT Hub
• Experience with Azure Service Bus and/or Event Hub
• Experience with Cosmos DB

Responsibilities:

• Develop frameworks and implement solutions to manage critical data at-scale ensuring regulatory compliance requirements, data privacy standards and security best practices
• Perform continuous integration to ensure that every step of a data flow is testable, automated, and compliant
• Develop and apply exceptional knowledge of common and emerging data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Matillion, Fivetran, MuleSoft, Talend, Alteryx, SSIS) via implementation of modern data architecture and solutions
• Contribute to team supporting consumer IoT products
• Analyze current cloud-based data architecture
• Help design next generation architecture to ensure scalability and growth of product related systems
