Senior Data Manager - Hungary

About the job

We are looking for an experienced manager to lead our fantastic Data Team playing a key role in supporting the team members and helping Bitrise to excel both in Data Analytics and Data Engineering.

As a Senior Data Manager in our Data Team within the R&D organization you will make sure that our team members can grow and work efficiently. Collaboration is part of our culture so you will work together with cross-functional teams along your journey. You will have the chance to tackle various challenges and understand complex problems.

While this is a management role we’re looking for someone who has hands-on experience both in leading and working in data teams. This is a remote position with most of the in-person events happening in Budapest Hungary.

What you will do

• Lead our Data Team that among other things is responsible for warehousing data integrating new data sources building data as a product and delivering value by publishing insightful information and analytics to support our R&D GTM Operations and Leadership teams.

• Mentor guide and grow team members with continuous feedback and professional development plans to ensure they have the right skills to deliver efficiently and grow professionally.

• Set the long-term vision together with the team and support their day to day operations with planning and managing priorities in a continuously changing environment.

• Help the team to achieve operational excellence in using our platforms and tools including but not limited to: dbt BigQuery Airflow DataFlow Metabase Tableau Segment Stitch Avo and Jira.

• Make sure that data and the team is accessible and visible for the whole organization by nurturing a transparent and collaborative way of working.

• Partner with Engineering Growth Product Sales and other teams to operate and analyze data that includes our SaaS analytics commercial lead flow and other usage data.

• Foster a culture where people care help each other move with urgency&focus being direct&open minded and having fun together.

• Represent the Data Team and a data-first mindset throughout the company.

What we expect from you

• You have sound experience in building and leading data teams in a start-up environment.

• You have solid foundations as an IC in Data Analytics or Data Engineering.

• You are passionate about leadership data analytics and automation especially in applying software engineering principles to data science and analytics

• You are able to understand and explain complex things in a simple way.

• You are not afraid of giving and receiving feedback in a meaningful and assertive way.

• You are fluent in English whether it’s a Slack e-mail Google Meet or in-person conversation.

What would knock our socks off

• You have experience working on a SaaS product.

• You have a deep understanding of SQL and relational databases.

• You have experience building and maintaining data pipelines.

• You have experience building reports and dashboards in a data visualization tool.
