Great American Risk Solutions (GARS) is seeking to add a full-time Senior Data Reporting Analyst to our growing analytics team. This role is a terrific opportunity to work directly with business and technical stakeholders in collaboration with data science, finance, and IT to develop innovative reporting and automation solutions that drive the business, while ensuring data quality through governance of reporting systems.
This position will be on a hybrid schedule and will work out of our Cincinnati, OH office.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Analyze complex financial and business intelligence data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions and strategies.

Create and maintain reports and dashboards to visualize data and present findings to stakeholders.

Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data by implementing data quality checks and validation processes.

Ensure compliance with deliverable reporting requirements by performing quality data audits and analysis.

Capture, develop, and document data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements.

Maintain governance documentation to ensure data management practices comply with organizational policies and standards.

Identify and recommend resolutions for identified issues in data and reporting quality.

Collaborate with product managers, business leaders, and IT departments to understand data needs and ensure data resources are accessible and effective.

Provide guidance and technical advice to lower-level associates to help them develop their skills and knowledge, and to other functional areas as necessary.

Train business users on how to interpret and utilize reports and dashboards effectively.

Define business and legal reporting requirements through research into business unit requests.

Take ownership of projects and initiatives, breaking them down into achievable components, setting expectations for timelines, and meeting acceptance criteria.

Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency by building automations and streamlining process flows.

Become an expert in the data flow for GARS systems and data sources and obtain advanced knowledge of industry and company products/coverages.

Demonstrate willingness and ability to upskill new tools, technology, and programs while keeping up to date with best practices in analytics and visualization.

Job Requirements
-
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required; master’s degree or professional license/certification a plus.

Field of Study: Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or related quantitative or technology discipline preferred.

Experience: Generally, 4 to 6 years of related experience. Previous experience in insurance, financial services, or professional services a plus.
Additional Skills/Qualifications:

Strong working experience and proficiency with SQL required and python preferred

Strong knowledge of visualization software; Tableau preferred

Excellent communication and presentation skills; leadership experience a plus

Exposure to agile methodology for project management preferred

Experience with cloud platforms a plus, Azure and Snowflake preferred
-
Experience with advanced quantitative modelling, machine learning, natural language processing, and working with unstructured data is a plus
