Position Overview: 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced senior Data Scientist and Data Engineer based in Mexico City, Mexico (citizen or established legal entity) with proven experience in banking for financial services and an ability to analyze inflows, outflows, and transaction narratives to provide a holistic view of information. Our engineers require a diverse skill set including system administration, DevOps, infrastructure automation, data modeling, and workflow orchestration. Blue Orange builds enterprise data platforms and systems for a variety of clients, so this candidate should have experience with supporting modern data technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience with multiple data engineering technologies across multiple clouds and deployment scenarios, in particular SQL, Snowflake, Python (numpy, OOP, etc.), Excel, visualization tools, Azure, AWS.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of projections and financial modeling related to pricing and client deposit interest rates
• Perform transaction-level data processing, including ingestion, transformation and reporting (querying)
• Add tables at different levels of granularity
• Execution and implementation of pre-defined methodologies
• Work with SQL, Snowflake, Python (including numpy and object programming), Excel, visualization tools, Azure, AWS
• Provide leadership in applying software development principles and best practices, including Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery/Deployment, and managing Infrastructure as Code and automated Testing across multiple software applications, when needed
• Develop reusable, automated processes, and custom tools

Requirements: 

• 3-4 years working as a Data Scientist, Data Engineer, or similar role
• Strong quantitative profile (mathematician, engineer, economist)
• Proven experience as a consultant programmer engineer
• Proficiency in SQL, Snowflake, Python (including numpy and OOP), Excel, visualization tools, Azure, AWS, and data management
• Fluency in Spanish and a working command of English
• Experience with transaction and transaction monitoring systems
• Strong ability to deliver meaningful insights into data
• Gifted technical communicator – able to speak meaningfully to non-technical audiences
• Adept client engagement skills as a consultant and advisor
• Bachelor's degree or greater in Data Science or similar
• A strong propensity for working in a Team as a prime specialist data contributor

Preferred qualifications:

•  4+ years leading client delivery data projects and engagements
• Practiced live presentation skills to executive, potentially C-level clients
• Advanced technical soft degrees a plus
• Pyspark, Databricks, and/or other technical certifications

Salary: USD $6950 - $7150 (monthly salary range)
