Senior Data Scientist

Your role is to collaborate with a senior stakeholder, brainstorm around ambiguous tasks, help the stakeholder with the understanding of the problem, propose a Machine Learning algorithm solution by taking into account the existing technology stack and product portfolio, followed by building a small proof of concert (PoC) with the rest of the data science team. You will be responsible for framing the ML opportunities, structuring and running PoC program.

Responsibilities

• We seek candidates who are empathetic and can use a mix of skills to understand end user motivations and pain points as well as what the business is trying to achieve. 
• Work with a senior stakeholder through an undefined task, conducting workshop and brainstorming sessions, understanding business goals. 
• Apply user centric thinking to design and prototype Machine Learning model that takes into account the existing technology stack and product portfolio.
• Implement a highly visual approach when sharing ideas that engages and challenges the thinking of non-technical audiences. 
• Conduct technical work sessions or workshops with internal teams. 
• Work closely with the rest of the data science team at Method to implement the PoC solution. 

Qualifications

• 8+ years working in the data science field and applying it to real world commercial problems with clearly defined and measured business benefits
• Comprehensive knowledge of advanced Machine Learning techniques, GenAI acumen 
• Demonstrated success in embedding ML models into existing digital products and services. 
• Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to successfully articulate complex concepts to senior stakeholders
• Work as a self-starter and hands-on technical specialist, take the ownership of task
• Comprehensive proficiency in key programming and scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash, SNOWFLAKE, SQL, etc.)
• Experience with one or multiple cloud data storage solutions (eg. S3, RDS, Redshift, Couchbase, Databricks, etc)
• Experience working with software engineering & devops tools (Github, Jenkins, Docker, etc.) (desired)
• Experience with MLOps tooling (Databricks, Sagemaker, MLFlow) (desired) 
• A unique point of view. You are trusted to question approaches, processes, and strategy to better serve your team. 

Location

• Remote first working with occasional need to be in one of our US offices. 
• Occasional travel to Chicago, where the client is based.
