Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist with experience building and deploying lead scoring and recommendations models to increase the efficiency of our Consumer Solutions business unit as they sell money-saving and emissions-reducing loans and home improvement projects to our existing customer base. Our ideal candidate has deep technical skills, is comfortable owning and prioritizing a roadmap independently, and has experience working with business stakeholders to gather requirements, share results, and drive adoption of data models. In this role, you will scope, prioritize, and execute data modeling projects that will help cross-sell teams prioritize their time and convert leads more effectively. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with other members of the Analytics team to increase our understanding of the Consumer cross-sell process and guide development of ML-friendly datasets. 

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop recommendations and lead scoring models that increase conversion rate of sales calls by the Consumer Solutions business unit 
• Work with stakeholders in the Consumer Solutions unit to scope and prioritize data modeling projects that will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of sales teams 
• Establish best practices for measuring the performance of data models both offline and online and use results educate non-technical stakeholders on value and lifecycle of data products 
• Mentor team members on ML projects and take part in tool selection decisions 
• Provide guidance to Analytics Engineers on data modeling needs of ML systems 

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• MS in DS, Statistics, MIS, or related technical degree or equivalent work experience 
• 5+ years' experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role 
• 5+ years' hands-on experience using SQL or a similar language for data manipulation 
• 5+ years’ hands-on experience using Python or a similar language for statistical programming 
• Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining ML models in MLFlow and/or AWS Sagemaker, including recommender systems or lead scoring models 
• Experience evaluating ML models and communicating results to non-technical stakeholders 
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to productionize and drive adoption of ML models 
• Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders to translate business needs into impactful ML modeling projects
