Senior Data Scientist - AVP

The Data Science Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role. We are seeking highly skilled analytics expert to join our team to help us increase foot print in Ecomm surveillance domain. The ideal candidate should have 8+ years of experience in ML and AI development, or 4+ years with a PhD in a related field. This role requires hands-on expertise in machine learning, statistical analysis, NLP, model deployment and exposure to generative AI. The candidate must have strong technical skills, quick learning abilities, exposure to high value analytical project, strong business acumen, the ability to work independently to drive innovative AI solutions and mentor / guide juniors.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts strategic data analysis, identifies insights and implications and make strategic recommendations, develops data displays that clearly communicate complex analysis.
• Mines and analyzes data from various banking platforms to drive optimization and improve data quality.
• Modeling and Statistical Analysis: Develop and implement advanced machine learning models and statistical analyses to address complex business challenges.
• Natural Language Processing (NLP): Design and deploy NLP models to support various applications, ensuring high accuracy and relevance.
• Model Deployment: Manage the end-to-end deployment of machine learning models, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and robustness.
• Packages & Programming Expertise: Demonstrated deep proficiency in Python and required packages (sklearn, pandas, Spacy, tensorflow, transformers, torch etc.), proficiency in coding in pyspark (Good to have MLLib, SparkNLP) and big data frameworks (Hive, Hue, Good to have - Impala, Spark streaming). Drive modeling efforts end to end and ensure the implementation meets best practices.
• Business Requirement Understanding: Translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring clear communication and alignment between technical outputs and business needs.
• Research and Innovation: Conduct research and develop innovative AI solutions. Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI/ML and apply them to improve business outcomes. Rationale and creative thinker. 
• Generative AI Development: Develop and fine-tune LLMs, ability to breakdown complex problems do solutioning with GenAI, exposure to efficient prompting strategies, leveraging LLMs for data augmentation and integrate Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG, advanced RAG) methods to enhance LLM's capabilities.
• Deep Learning: Efficient in applying deep learning techniques such as ANN,LSTM, CNN, BERT, XLNet, Transformers, neural embeddings, LLM based embeddings to develop state-of-the-art AI models and applications. Good to have exposure to graph neural network, graph databases.
• Communication and Persuasion: Exhibit strong communication and persuasive skills to influence and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in ML and AI development or 4+ years of experience with a PhD in a related field.
• Ability to effectively use complex analytical, interpretive and problem solving techniques.
• Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
•  Hands-on experience with statistical analysis and machine learning modeling.
• Proficiency in Python and big data frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
• Expertise in NLP and deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with generative AI development, including prompting, RAG, and domain based fine-tuning LLMs (packages - Langchain, LlamaIndex etc.).
• Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques and Python packages (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn).
• Proven ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ability to work independently as an individual contributor.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and innovative thinking abilities.
• Education:
• Bachelor’s/University degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or 4+ years of experience with a PhD in a related field.
