What We NeedÂ2K has been a major console and PC game publisher for several console generations and is known for bringing amazing IP to the market. As we grow our mobile game portfolio, the mobile analytics team is looking for a skilled and passionate Data Analyst. This team member will be primarily focusing on 2K’s mobile games and be responsible for rapidly identifying business problems, crunching data, translating that information into digestible reports, setting up dashboards, and providing useful data insights to our development team.Â
What You Will Do- Working closely with development teams to provide insights to understand the impact of product decisions on game qualityÂ
- Determining what data needs to be captured to serve development team’s needs and summarising the data in the most useful formatÂ
- Analysing gameplay, marketing, and economy telemetry data to understand how feature, content, and balance adjustments are impacting the overall player experience, both before and after the product launchesÂ
- Analysing gameplay data to understand player behaviour and enhance the quality of the player experience
- Regularly performing ad hoc analyses for our development, live ops, and performance marketing teamsÂ
- Presenting useful findings derived from data analysis in a variety of formats
- Creating and distributing regular performance reports and dashboards that align with our established business critical metrics
We’re looking for an analyst who is eager to mine data for insights as well as test hypotheses rigorously by using data-driven techniques. The ideal candidate must be able to identify the underlying story in the data and demonstrate their communication skills to develop a compelling narrative to both their team as well as executives. Being a solution oriented problem solver as well as a self-starter with passion, creativity, and enthusiasm to drive the results for meaningful changes are also going to be very critical for this role. Finally, the ideal candidate will develop a deep familiarity with our mobile titles such that they are able to consistently deliver useful recommendations and drive meaningful changes in our mobile products.
What We Think Will Make a Great FitÂ- B.A. or B.S. in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering Sciences (or a similar quantitative field)Â
- 2 years of experience in data science or analytics with large, complex, and multi-dimensional data sets
- Experience with statistical software packages for data manipulation (R or Python preferred)
- Expert in using SQL to query and join relational databases and flat files
- Advanced experience with Tableau or other similar visualisation tools
- Experience working with multiple partners in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of collaborating with other team members across all levels of the organisationÂ
- Masters or PhD degree in a quantitative field
- Knowledge of free-to-play mobile game behaviour, economics, and/or performance marketing
- Experience working with live events and operations, preferably in a gaming or SaaS environment
- Passion for mobile gaming and user growth

This is a fully remote role that may be based anywhere in the United States. The pay range for this position for applicants based in Colorado at the start of employment is expected to be between $98,000 and $140,000 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.  Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.  Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
